Club Reports: Atlantic Dance Hall, Icebar Orlando, Zinc Bar Reunion

Last night we began our evening “down the shore” at Walt Disney World and Atlantic Dance Hall.
We came inside and walked into this!
The sign outside advertised a “Live DJ” and they don’t come livelier than DJ Michael Wycoff (USA).
The music mostly Top 40 old and new.
We heard some Gwen Stefani (USA), we heard some Bad Bunny (USA), we heard some classic Cameo (USA) during our visit.
The club attracts a lot of Disney cast members but you don’t have to be one to join the fun here.
Long queue to get drinks last night.
Atlantic Dance Hall has a shiny disco ball so you know they’re legit.
Most of the songs played here are accompanied by music videos.
The club’s dance floor is massive so it’s difficult to look crowded but last night it did look pretty crowded. Atlantic Dance Hall is located at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and admission and parking are free.
Located along International Drive, our next stop was Icebar Orlando.
But we first had to try to talk our way past the pretty door hostesses.
We came inside and walked into this!
In the booth, the legendary DJ Ray Love (USA).
The music during our visit mostly older Top 40 hits.
We had to join-in for the “Cupid Shuffle”.
We’ve never seen this play empty.
There’s always a crowd at the bar or on the dance floor.
Icebar has a shiny disco ball so you know they’re legit.
Admission to the dance club is free but you do have to pay if you want to go inside their frozen Ice room. And you can just about always save money by purchasing admission online in advance versus paying the walk-up price upon arrival.
A good time was had by all.
We couldn’t find any photos of downtown’s Zinc Bar in the Blog archives, just this one pic taken after they had changed their name to Senso Supper Club. Last night was was the Zinc Bar Reunion at Iron Cow and it was our next stop last night.
For a relatively small dance club, Zinc Bar/Senso pulled their weight way beyond what you’d expect. DJ’s like Cedric Gervais (F) played here, Ferry Corsten (NL) played here, Laidback Luke (NL) played here. Pictured above, a young Carlos Mendoza opening for Nicole Moudaber (LEB/GB) here.
We arrived around 11:30PM but first had to try to talk our way past the pretty door hostess.
We came inside and walked into this!
The evening’s opener DJ Mathew Scot (USA) was on when we first arrived.
House music of course, last night only off vinyl.
Dance floor was busy.
We ran into so many peeps from the Orlando music scene. Some were new but most we knew.
Thank you everyone for your poses.
And then around midnight, there they were, the headliners for this Zinc Bar Reunion…..
DJ Cliff T (USA)…..
…..and DJ Carlos Mendoza (USA).
They brought their crates of music, old school style!
So much yes! Many of the selections were songs we used to hear on Sirius and XM Satellite Radio back around the turn of the century. And of course at Zinc Bar.
Typically after 1AM we see crowds on the dance floor begin to wane. Not so last night when the later it got, the more crowded it got!
Iron Cow has a shiny disco ball so you know they’re legit.
The music was so good last night that event promoters Jeff Kenney of HTG and Luis Evans of Vizion1 were fighting over who would get to book Cliff and Carlos next.
1:30AM and no one was leaving!
Cliff T was also a resident DJ at Sky60/Aero Bar for decades.
Carlos played on the neonGARDEN stage at Electric Daisy Carnival-Orlando last November.
Such a great show and a good time…..
…..was had by all.
