Club Reports: PBR Cowboy Bar, Shark Bar, Still Lounge, Taverna Opa, Sports & Social, Palm Tree Club

Opening in September, 2024, Live! At The Pointe is a new nightclub district located along International Drive in Orlando’s Tourist district. It consists of 6 different clubs serving different music niches, some with cover charges and some without depending on the night.
They’ve added a new stage near the entrance from the parking garage. Here we found DJ Mitch Tyler (USA) playing old and new Top 40.
Entering from the garage, you first encounter PBR Cowboy Bar on the right side of the pathway. There can be long lines here to get in but it was pretty tame around 10PM last night.
We didn’t actually go inside this visit but we have in the past. There’s the requisite mechanical bull.
And Country line dances.
On the left side of the entrance pathway you’ll find Shark Bar.
At this early hour, virtually no one here yet.
But the dance floor would slowly bet populated.
DJ Kevin Eman (USA) was leading the festivities last night.
The music also older Top 40 including Hip Hop hits.
People dancing outside too!
Moving further down the path you come to Still Lounge by Dr, Dre (USA) and Snoop Dog (USA).
Cool wall made of record album covers are on the front wall by the bar.
Here we found DJ Cody Jared (USA).
The music mostly Hip Hop hits including Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog.
We haven’t seen Cody Jared since 2021 at Bullitt Bar downtown as seen in this pic from the Blog archives.
Still Lounge is the newest venue at Live! At The Pointe, replacing Houndsmen Lounge which never really found a niche.
Taverna Opa is the oldest venue at The Pointe, predating the conversion to a nightclub district.
It’s primarily a Greek restaurant with a nightclub aspect to it.
DJ Owsa (USA) was in the booth playing Greek, Latin and Reggaeton.
Most venues would kick you out if you got up on their tables and danced. At Opa, they encourage it!
They have belly dancers too but she was on break during our visit.
Spotted on the dance floor: DJ Pacho Berrocal (USA). We haven’t seen him since January when he opened for DJ Nicole Maudeber (GB) at The Vanguard downtown.
Another club within the complex and also their largest is Sports & Social.
As the name would indicate, it’s primarily a sports bar and restaurant with a huge screen displaying sporting events.
They also have a DJ and here we found DJ Jackz (USA).
The music is mostly Top 40.
Last but hardly least, Palm Tree Club is the House/EDM club at Live! At The Pointe.
Long queue to get inside.
But it was not that crowded when we first arrived.
The opener was on when we first got there.
DJ Angel Fernandez (USA)
The music House & Tech House.
The early crowd as the line outside cleared entry.
Taking over next, DJ Tricade (USA).
He looked familiar but could find no record of him within the Blog archives.
Dance floor filling up for songs such as “House & Pressure” and “What Is Love”.
Great set; he had the floor bouncing.
Palm Tree Club doesn’t have a shiny disco ball but they do have a shiny disco palm tree,
As midnight approached, dance floor became absolutely packed!
Spotted in the Tech Booth: DJ Alfred Michael (USA).
Spotted in the Tech Booth: DJ Alfred Michael (USA) and friend.
Spotted in the Tech Booth: DJ Alfred Michael (USA) and friends.
And then around 12:10AM, there she was sneaking-in, the headliner…..
DJ J.Worra (USA)
Going straight-in to her mostly Tech House set.
“All Night Dancing”
Her set had the club bouncing.
We last saw J.Worra when she played down on the dance floor itself at The Vanguard in September, 2023 as shown in the photo from the Blog archives.
Last night, everywhere we went…..
…..a good time was had by all.
