Club Reports: Grape & The Grain, Oliv Bar, Broken Strings Brewery, The Robinson

After spending last weekend in Miami for Miami Music Week and two weekends ago in Sunshine Grove for Okeechobee Music Festival, we were happy to be back wandering the streets of Orlando to bring you some local club reports. We began our Friday night at Grape & The Grain in the Mills/50 District.
Coming out the venue’s back door, we walked into this!
DJ Calvin J (USA) was just finishing his set upon our 10PM arrival.
He was playing Latin House.
Taking over immediately thereafter, DJ Brian Burnside (USA).
And he switched it over to straight House.
And what began as just a couple people on the dance floor.
Got busier.
Spotted in VIP: DJ Celestial (USA) and DJ Vint Soul (USA).
DJ SneakyPete (USA) would also play here later last night.
You can always spot an old-school NYC DJ by the use of an earphone in lieu of headphones.
A good time was had by all.
We next headed to Oliv Bar, located on Magnolia in Uptown about a block north of Colonial.
We walked into this!
Here we found DJ Freeda Sol (USA) in the booth.
House music all night long.
She had the dance floor bouncing.
And those drops were getting the crowd excited.
We always call Oliv Bar the little bar with the big bar inside. Busy dance floors and a full liquor bar make the place a popular venue.
Spotted in VIP: Dianne & Christina
Such a great vibe.
And a good time was had by all.
Next stop, Broken Strings Brewery located on Church Street about two blocks east of OBT.
We walked into this!
Spotted in the Tech booth: DJ Swagkerr (USA) and DJ Drizzy (USA).
On stage we found DJ Rob Cokeless (USA).
Playing mostly Breaks, of course.
While not packed as we’ve seen at some events here, there was a good-sized crowd on hand.
And Rob Cokeless’ set had the club bouncing.
The lasers were flying.
We ran into so many peeps we know from the Orlando music scene.
Thank you everyone for your poses.
Just before going on stage at midnight, Kristin spotted on the dance floor with DJ Spark-D (USA) and DJ JROK (USA) who together are…..
DJ duo The Flintstonerz (USA).
Mostly Breaks, of course.
We had just seen the popular duo play together last Friday night at Kemistry in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
They too had the club bouncing.
A good time was had by all.
Time for one more stop! Into the Orlando CBD we went and specifically The Robinson located on East Pine Street.
Located on the second floor, we climbed the stairs and walked into this!
The action takes place in the adjoining “Disco Room”.
Where we found Friday night resident DJ Chino (USA) playing Latin hits when we first arrived.
We told him he sounded like a cruise ship DJ lol but before too long he switched it over to EDM.
Dance floor was crowded.
Because the peeps want EDM.
The DJ Chino Fan Club (Downtown Orlando Chapter) was holding their monthly meeting.
White Party!
Dance floor stayed busy.
While nearly every club in Orlando stayed shuttered during the 2020 pandemic, DJ Chino would be out there every weekend pumping EDM hits on the famous Elixir Bar patio.
Spotted near the booth: DJ Chino with former Dragon Room colleagues.
Everywhere we went last night…..
…..a good time was had by all.
