Last night was the grand opening of 480N Wine Bar, located within Winter Park Village in Winter Park in the spot vacated by Flutes Champagne Bar. It wasn’t easy to find; had to ask some employees of other establishments if they knew where it was. But we finally located it and walked into this!The DJ booth is located up front and it was here we spotted DJ Mighty Shari (USA).It was a Disco night and she was playing a mix of 70’s Disco and Nu Disco.There is an actual dance floor adjacent the booth. We heard tunes such as “I Love the Nightlife”, “Can’t Wait For The Weekend” and “I Want Your Love”.They have two shiny disco balls so you know the place is legit.480N is a long narrow room with a large bar on the right side.There’s a good amount of bar seating with tables along one wall and all the way in the back too. There is also seating on the front patio.DJ Mighty Shari was spotted with DJ Brian Burnside (USA) and DJ Vint Soul (USA).And spotted here with DJ Cub (USA) who had played the first two hours last night. At 10PM there was a short burlesque show. They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls.Well damn, they were right!480N has an extensive wine and beer list. We stuck with the hard stuff.We next crossed over the border from Winter Park into Maitland, home to Good Times Bar & Grill located along Keller Road.The first Friday of every month means Abyss Night and we walked into this!Abyss resident DJ Lavidicus (USA) was in the booth which is located up on the stage.The music mostly Industrial, Alternative, Goth, Power Noise and other darker genres.DJ kept the dance floor active.Good Times has a variety of entertainment types happening which can range from Karaoke to Comedy to 70’s & 80’s Nights to live show bands. Our favorite band Franchise Players (USA) play here on February 20th. The next Abyss goth night is the first Friday next month which is March 6th.Good Times has a shiny disco ball so you know they’re legit.Oh wow, hadn’t seen those two on the right since the old Independent Bar downtown!Good Times has a full liquor bar and a large free parking lot.A good time was had by all.
