Club Reports: Aura Night Club, Live! At The Pointe, Oliv Bar, Iron Cow

Located downtown along Orange Avenue, Aura Night Club is a new venue in the upstairs spot which previously held The Woods.
All the seating booths which were once here have been replaced with a DJ booth, VIP tables and a dance floor. This was never a DJ/Music/Dance venue so the sound system is all new and sounds great.
We didn’t recognize the DJ but he was playing a pretty good EDM mix.
The old wooden bar that was here for The Woods is still here.
Blog file photo from 2015 showing the same wooden bar.
These two DJ’s would take over shortly thereafter but switch the music to mostly Heavy Bass.
A crowd was slowly arriving and the dance floor was seeing activity. The headliner was going to be DJ Hadegaard (DK) but when the two DJ’s put on a Dubstep mashup of Chase & Status (GB) DnB hit “Backbone”, we knew we needed to get the heck out of there.
The upstairs section of Pointe Orlando along International Drive has been rebranded as Live! At The Pointe and is now jammed with night clubs.
We began our visit at Sports & Social.
Located where B.B. Kings Blues Club once operated, it’s been heavily renovated and looks great.
As the venue’s name would indicate, it’s a sports bar (and restaurant). Last night you could watch a Major League Baseball playoff game and the FSU-Duke football game.
DJ Tony Z (USA) was controlling the action as well as playing music between sports shows.
During our first visit during opening weekend at Live!, a DJ was playing on this stage but as you can see, they have live bands here too at times.
We first met Tony Z years ago when he was a resident DJ at Atlantic Dance Hall at Walt Disney World.
Last night, the S&S front bar was pretty busy.
While the main bar downstairs was not. Many of the dining tables were busy though.
First visit to Shark Bar. It was not open for business yet during our opening weekend visit.
There is one outside bar. This venue was previously Adobe Gila’s but they, like nearly everything in the upstairs section of Pointe Orlando, closed years ago.
There are two inside bars too.
Here we found DJ Kevin Eman (USA) in the booth.
The music was mostly Top 40 and EDM last night.
Large dance floor in the club.
And they have a shiny disco ball so you know they’re legit.
Next door in the former Hooters spot is Houndsmen Lounge.
The interior is a beautiful wood-dominated room with lots of booths for chit chat and having a drink.
DJ J-Quezt (USA) was in the booth playing light EDM and Top 40.
We’re not really sure the niche that Houndsmen is trying to fill but it is a beautiful room.
So many new clubs here at Live! but the one that has generated the most buzz is this one that hasn’t even opened yet. Located downstairs next to Cuba Libre, this is the future home of Palm Tree Club.
It was supposed to open this weekend with DJ duo Forester (USA), but it still has a long way to go. Owned by DJ Kygo (N), this will be a top notch upscale club with big name touring DJ’s playing!
DJ Sigala (GB) is supposed to play here November 1st and DJ Frank Walker (CDN) on December 20th but construction has a long way to go. We’ll keep you updated.
Greek restaurant Opa is still here where a DJ plays Greek music and Top 40.
And there was no need to visit the new PBR Cowboy Bar.
Located on Magnolia Avenue at Park Lake Street in uptown, Oliv Bar is a small place with a big vibe.
It’s one modern room surrounded by glass. And every second Friday night they have House sessions.
In the booth, delivering the goods, DJ Dani Orieta (BOL/USA).
House music, all night long.
Spotted tending: Amber. They have a full liquor bar here.
Spotted on the dance floor: Leticia with friend.
The next bi-weekly session will be on November 1st so come check this place out!
We try to spread-out our club visits to numerous venues to keep things interesting but when there’s a place with so many consistently great events such as Iron Cow, we keep coming back!
But first we had to get past Door Hostess Stephanie. She scrutinized my ticket over-and-over again but finally approved me to enter…..
And we walked into this!
Iron Cow resident DJ Lola B (USA) was in the booth.
House music, of course!
Her set had the dance floor bouncing.
But there was still room!
Iron Cow has a shiny disco ball so you know the place is legit.
And then, there he was, visiting with Luis Evans from Vizion1, the headliner…..
DJ Jody Wisternoff (GB)
He would continue the vibe for the now-jammed dance floor!
Always a great night when this guy plays Orlando!
Spotted on stage: Luis joined by the last night’s opener DJ Freeda Sol (USA) and DJ Lola B.
Spotted at the front entrance: Go Go girl Peggy gone Mod. You can never go wrong with Go Go girls.
Spotted on the dance floor: DJ Freeda Sol with her main squeeze Justus.
Spotted in VIP: Jennifer, Ashley & Kriss
We last saw Jody Wisternoff back in 2022 when he played atop Amway Center‘s open-air Skylounge.
Dance floor had gotten wall-to-wall. The next big Vizion1 event takes place next Saturday, October 26th at the brand new Kali Ultra Lounge upstairs at Mangos ft. the legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold (GB). Tickets.
Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
