Club Reports: Proper, Bullitt Bar, McQueens, The Patio, Inside @ The Patio, The Corner, Monkey Bar

Friday night in DTO and we began our search for House music.
Proper has been home to House music since they opened in April, 2023, so it was our first stop.
This front bar greets you as soon as you step inside.
The aft bar is even more impressive and brings new meaning to the term “top shelf liquor”.
We found DJ Getfreeliving (USA) in the booth when we arrived.
But the music wasn’t House, it was Hip Hop.
No one dancing at the early hour.
They do have a shiny disco ball here so you know the place is legit.
Not sure if this is a Danley Sound Labs speaker or Disney. Jeff Kenney would know.
Great Halloween display behind the DJ booth!
Named for the 1968 action film “Bullitt”, our next stop was Bullitt Bar.
The three bars were packed but no one was dancing during our visit.
DJ Palmer Reed (USA) was in the booth during our visit.
No House music here; this is a Hip Hop club.
They have this cool refrigerator though related to some of the chase scenes in the famed film.
The film starred actor Steve McQueen and directly above Bullitt Bar is McQueens Social Lounge. House music has been a staple here since they opened pre-covid so upstairs we went.
There are 3 large bars in McQueens but only this one was open last night.
DJ Prankstisci (USA) was delivering the tunes. Apparently you’ll find House here on Thursdays & Sundays but last night it was all Hip Hop.
They have a great selfie wall here.
They are ready for the spooky season.
The DJ booth used to be up there in the alcove but it was hard for the crowd to see the DJ and the DJ could barely see what was going on below.
Much better once they moved the booth down to the main level.
Still searching for some House music so our next stop was The Patio where there’s always a party.
Just a handful on the dance floor when we first arrived.
But it got busier fast.
We found DJ Parry (USA) in the booth.
But the music was Top 40 including a lot of Hip Hop. No House.
This bevy of cuties were putting-in their song request on the board. I think they asked for “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” because that’s what the DJ played next.
They do have a shiny disco ball here so you know the place is legit.
Within a half hour the place was packed!
Located at the rear of The Patio is Inside at The Patio. While The Patio is mostly open-air, Inside is…inside.
DJ Rock Johnson (USA) was in the booth at Inside. We knew the music would be Hip Hop but we still wanted to pay a visit.
It’s kept really dark in here but we could see the dance floor was empty. That was a surprise because it’s usually wall-to-wall packed in here. But that’s how downtown was everywhere last night. One day after Hurricane Milton, people stayed home.
They have a great selfie wall here.
Beach Club, Barbarella, Independent Bar, Barbarella again, Whicked Wiskeys…..and now The Corner was our next stop.
Here we found DJ Rincon (USA) in the booth which is located right on the dance floor.
The music was mostly great EDM during out visit. Rincon was a resident DJ at The Groove in Universal CityWalk prior to their closure.
They have a great selfie wall in here too.
We found Dawn from 8TRAX on the floor!
The old metal floor from Barbarella is long gone; switched to wood during the venue’s brief 2-month foray into Country music as Wicked Whiskeys.
But there are plenty of I-Bar/Barbarella memories like this door to the former upstairs DJ booth.
Or these stairs to the upper deck which is now closed.
And the surface of the bar!!
In the Hip Hop ocean of downtown Orlando, there is at least one House music island oasis. Monkey Bar.
At last! We walked into a House set from DJ Dos Santos (USA).
Overall kind of a slow night here too.
DJ Dity (USA) taking over next and continuing with the same vibe.
He had the small crowd on the floor bouncing.
And a good time was had by all.
