Club Reports: Live! At The Pointe, Morse Code, Mulligan’s,The Robinson

Earlier this month we reported on the Live! at The Pointe, the new club district under construction upstairs in The Pointe Orlando complex along International Drive. Well this is opening weekend and Orlando Entertainment News was there last night to check it out!
We began at PBR Cowboy Bar, located where live band venue Lafayette’s Music Room once operated.
We walked into this!
Near the entrance, the requisite mechanical bull was seeing action.
In the booth we found DJ Mynd (USA) delivering the music.
Which was American Country music.
There were plenty of boot scootin’ going on.
Numerous bars in the venue assure a drink is never too far away and a good time was had by all.
Across from PBR Cowboy Bar in the former Hooters spot is Houndsmen Lounge.
Lots of dark wood make-up this upscale lounge.
With plenty of nooks to have a drink and chill.
In the booth we found DJ Astylez (USA) delivering the music.
Which was a light House mix.
Two large bars in the venue assure a drink is never too far away.
There is a large dance floor and DJ says they’ll be bringing in the lights later and pumping up the music.
The former B.B. Kings Blues Club is now Sports & Social.
We walked into this.
An overview shows dining tables occupy much of the space…..
And a new 3-sided bar now occupies an area that previously housed a straight bar plus these new monitors showing sports.
In the booth we found DJ King Arthur (USA) delivering the music.
Which last night was a lot of Top 40 and EDM.
Spotted in the Tech Booth: DJ Tony Z. (USA) on the left with colleagues.
There was a contingent on the dance floor.
All the new venues at Live! at the Pointe have a DJ/Dance element to them.
Most of the former B.B. King’s upstairs that faced the stage has, along with that stage, been removed. But there still is one upstairs section above the entrance area.
A good time was had by all.
Yet another new venue at Live! is Shark Bar.
Located where Adobe Gila’s once operated, the outdoor bar was open for business last night.
But the inside remained a work-in-progress. This venue is being advertised as a home for Retro dance music so we’re looking forward to it!
Perhaps the most exciting new addition here is still under construction. This is Palm Tree Club which is owned by DJ Kygo (N). Like most of the others, they’re restaurants early turning into a club after 10PM or so. We think this is where the multi-story club is going but it’s not scheduled to open until mid-October at the soonest. We’ll keep you updated! Please be aware there is a paid parking garage at The Pointe but you can get your ticket validated with any purchase.
We next left International Drive for downtown Winter Park and newer club Morse Code.
We walked into this!
In the booth we found DJ Mike Presley (USA) delivering the music.
The music was mostly House/Tech House.
He kept the dance floor full with songs such as John Summit (USA) “Make Me Feel“.
And Breaks always gets everybody bouncing!
Spotted in VIP: DJ Johnny Park (USA) with Dolly. Johnny Park plays tonight at The Capital Room in downtown Sanford along with DJ Mark Sanchez (USA) and DJ Knightlife (USA).
Also spotted in VIP: DJ Knightlife with Carla.
Spotted on the dance floor: Tanyia and Heather
Spotted by the bar: Jody Marie and Christina
Spotted in the booth: Megs with the DJ
A good time was had by all.
Mulligans in north suburban Longwood is a restaurant by day that turns into Mulligans Dance Club on weekend nights.
We walked into this.
In the booth we found DJ Richie Rich (USA) delivering the music.
Which last night was mostly Top 40 hits.
No pretensions here; this is super casual. Shorts, tee shirts, flip flops, no problem.
A good time was had by all.
One final stop of the night, The Robinson Cocktail Room in DTO.
After climbing the stairs, we walked into this.
The action takes place in the adjoining Disco Room. It was absolutely packed in there!
In the booth we found DJ Chino (USA) delivering the music.
Mostly EDM and House with some snippets of Reggaeton.
Dance floor was packed for songs such as Adam Port (D) “Move“, Fisher (AUS) “Atmosphere” and Bob Sinclar (F) “World Hold On (Tasty or Not Remix)“.
DJ had the club bouncing!
It gets like this every Friday night at The Robinson.
You know this place is legit based solely on the number of shiny disco balls up there!
The Orlando chapter of the DJ Chino Fan Club was in attendance.
Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
