Club Reports: Privilege Day Club (Nassau), Aqua Theater, Studio B (Utopia Of The Seas)

For the second time in the past month, greetings from Nassau, Bahamas. Last time we were on Carnival Glory and this time on Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas. By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on.
Our mission this Saturday was to visit the Baha Mar hotel complex located about 8 miles west of downtown Nassau in the Cable Beach area. Baha Mar is home to three hotels and a casino.
The SLS Resort Baha Mar is home to the Privilege Day Club.
Home to this beautiful pool surrounded by chairs, umbrellas and cabanas.
In the booth we found DJ Chris (BS) kicking-off an afternoon of music.
There was also time for lunch at the pool bar. My piña colada was the best ever!
There was a line to get in at the entrance as more people joined the fun.
The music was mostly Hip Hop during our visit.
Too soon it was time to head back to the ship. If you’re ever in Nassau you should know about the jitney bus system that operates all over the island (except to Paradise Island). A taxi from the port to Baha Mar would cost at least $20 while taking a jitney bus is just $1.50.
Typical jitney bus in downtown Nassau. They don’t operate at night though.
Saturday’s ship lineup in downtown Nassau, (left to right): RCI Utopia of the Seas, Celebrity Reflection, Disney Wish, Carnival Elation.
Utopia of the Seas joins sister Oasis-class ships with this huge outdoor “Boardwalk” area. All the way aft on this ship, the Aqua Theater.
We were here for the water show Aqua80too.
After getting seated in their theater, one couldn’t help but notice this rather small pool.
The show began with these fountains along the pool’s perimeter. They began low and got progressively higher and higher.
And all of a sudden, standing behind the fountains, the show’s cast! They didn’t walk out there, they just appeared out of nowhere!
We’re not going to post too many photos; you need to see this spectacular show for yourself!
The show’s music is all 80’s…..mostly 80’s New Wave! It was like a night at Barbarella.
Packed to the rafters!
There were some spectacular dives too; the show is one surprise after another.
The pool changes depths. It gets deep during the dives and shallow for the dancing-on-water segments. Utopia of the Seas must be experienced and once on board, Aqua80too must be experienced!
Studio B is an ice skating rink on many Royal Caribbean ships but on this ship, it’s also one of the main dance clubs.
Following an edition of participation game show Quest, the audience was invited down to the dance floor as it was time for the ReZolution Dance Party!
With music delivered by DJ Rafa (BR/I).
The floor thinned-out a bit but remained crowded.
Some of the ship’s “Party Squad” joined-in the fun.
Music was mostly Hip Hop and Top 40 hits including songs such as “Shots”, “Party Up”, “Jump Around” and “Back That Azz Up”.
Plus “Crank Dat” and “Yada Yada Yada”.
Everywhere on this tremendous ship…..a good time was had by all.
