Club Reports: Sail Away Party, Pesky Parrot, Schooner Bar, Music Hall (Utopia Of The Seas)

By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on. We’re currently sailing on Royal Caribbean‘s massive and brand new Utopia of the Seas doing a 3-night cruise to Nassau and private island Coco Cay (Little Stirrup Cay) in the Bahamas sailing from Port Canaveral.
Of course we had to attend the traditional Sail Away Party taking place by the pools on Deck 15.
And up on Deck 16, some of the ship’s animation team and…..
…..DJ Ruby Voo (BR)
It was absolutely packed and we heard the cruise ship traditional line dances such as “Cupid Shuffle”, “The Wobble” and “Cha Cha Slide”.
But also traditional party hits such as “Dynamite”, “I Gotta Feeling” and “Gonna Make You Sweat”.
Conga line coming through!
Packed to the rafters!
DJ had people dancing in every possible empty spot!
A good time was had by all.
This ship is jammed with entertainment choices and no shortage of bars including Pesky Parrot on Deck 5.
This venue is a south Pacific-themed tiki bar with alcoholic-flavored slurpee-like drinks!
One wall has these louvered windows with an island view featuring swaying palm trees. This is very reminiscent of Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
But watch out for this pesky parrot. He’s mean and has a dirty mouth!
We also dropped by Schooner Bar on Deck 6.
Schooner Bar is a tradition on all Royal Caribbean ships but this one is not surprisingly larger than most and brighter than most.
As the name indicates, very nautical-themed.
It was 60’s Night and pianist Andy Morris sang songs such as “Brown Eyed Girl”, “I Saw Her Standing There” and “Hit The Road Jack”.
Another music venue aboard Utopia of the Seas is simply called Music Hall and located on Deck 8.
And it was 70’s Disco Fever night at the Hall.
Featuring the “Utopia of the Seas Showband” (Multi Nationality).
The male vocalist is from New Zealand and the female vocalist from Norway.
Ground floor view with another seating area (and a pool table) above it on Deck 9.
Dance floor got populated for 70’s hits such as “Celebration”, “September”, “Let’s Groove Tonight” and “Brick House”.
Plus “We Are Family”, “Dancing Queen” and “Last Dance”.
It was a fun show. Everywhere we went on Cruise Day 1, a good time was had by all.
