Concert Report: Radiate (Iron Oak Post)

Beautiful downtown Melbourne on a Saturday night. In town for the “Radiate” concert at Iron Oak Post.
The event was created by Rose and Chris from Rezpro. This twice-annual event is a fundraiser for various local charities; this one was for Serene Harbor. Once we get the amount of money raised last night, we will post it here: $3,000.00
Iron Oak Post is just down the street from the Brightline tracks offering nonstop service from Orlando International Airport station to West Palm Beach station, Fort Lauderdale station, Aventura station and Miami CentralStation.
Back at the event, we first had to get past the door hosts Laura and Joel. There was no cover charge to get in last night but since it was a fundraiser, nearly everyone donated something.
A lot of art was also donated to the event and an auction later in the evening would generate even more money. Pretty amazing!
The event began at 6PM with DJ Shalawn (USA).
We’ve seen Shalawn at so many events over the years but this is the first time we’ve seen her DJ.
Lookin’ good up there for her mostly Breaks set. She would later tell us this was her first public appearance!
At the opposite end of the room from the DJ booth, aerialists were in action.
Showing some amazing skills!
Whoever was up there, there was always a crowd of spectators cheering them on.
Up next, DJ Ms. MF (USA).
Based in Deland, this was just our third time seeing her play.
Delivering a great House/Tech House set.
Iron Oak Post has this awesome wrap-around bar with serving areas in both the main room and this side room facing the dance floor.
Thirsty or not, choose your flavor!
Did we mention this was going to be an all-female DJ lineup? Around half past 7PM, DJ Lokilotus (USA).
First time seeing her!
Mostly Breaks & Electro.
Loklotus would do a b2b set with DJ Dee Dee Slay (USA).
Playing Breaks the way there were meant to be played: Miami Bass & good old Booty Breaks!
This Orlando-based DJ was pretty animated during her set.
Within a matter or moments the dance floor went from this…..
…..to this!
Every time I go to town…..
…..the boys all kick my dog around.
I don’t care if he’s just a hound, you gotta quit kicking my dog around!
Coming up on 9PM for DJ Jennifer Marley (USA).
The “Lady of the House” deliver a set of House.
Jennifer Marley is based in nearby Palm Bay.
Dance floor activity was picking-up.
That look you get from great House music.
Ditto!
There must have been at least 12 different Ladies performing on that ring last night.
Party on the dance floor!
One of our favorites up next…..DJ Lady T (USA).
She went mostly Breaks for us.
Lady T is based in Miami.
Her main squeeze, DJ Sum1 (USA), was watching from stage left.
She had the club bouncing.
Such a fun set!
They were bashful though, not venturing too close to the stage, lol.
And then it was already 10:30PM and DJ SiR (USA) taking over.
She’s known for her Dubstep but she told us before going on that she recognized this was an overall older crowd and not a Dubstep crowd. She was right.
So we don’t recall any Dubstep per se, but plenty of Heavy Bass from this Palm Beach-based DJ.
And Drum & Bass too!
Everyone really enjoyed it!
When the DnB gets liquidy.
The aerialists would perform to nearly 11PM.
We ran into so many people from the scene. Most we knew…..but some were new.
Dance Singer Jamie Blue (USA) performing a number for us. She would also perform MC duties.
It was now nearly 11:30PM and time for DJ Delicious Groove (USA).
She was having a fun time up there.
Delicious Groove is based in Dallas.
As midnight approached, dance floor was getting jammed.
See what we mean!
Up next, a short performance from Rappers Shawnii Moon & McFly Slim (USA).
They did a Breaks version of classic Rock hit “Cold As Ice”.
It was a great diversion from everything else going on.
After midnight, DJ ekb* (USA).
Her set was mostly on the Breaks side.
The Seattle-Tacoma based DJ had flown-in just for this event!
Dance floor reached its peak during her set.
They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls.
Well damn, they were right!
MC Vixen Stylee (USA) providing some narration for ekb* and for the final performer…..
At 1AM, DJ Meaux (USA).
Breaks and House.
Another one of the Miami-based DJ’s playing last night. What a great show!
A good time was had by all.
