Club Reports: Aero Bar, Morse Code, Barbarella

Our Saturday night began last night at downtown favorite, Aero Bar.
Just as it should be on a Saturday night, resident DJ Dominic Morrison (USA) was in the perch.
Fridays & Saturdays at this rooftop venue is all-EDM & House.
The lasers were flying.
We had arrived shortly after their 10PM opening and there was already a growing crowd. It gets packed up here before midnight but it can pay to arrive before 11PM for their drink specials; my Tito’s & Tonic was just $4.45. Admission is FREE.
Morse Code in downtown Winter Park has only been open relatively shortly but they’ve really made a name for themselves. And last night they had a Studio 54 Party!
We walked in to find resident DJ’s Yuri Gonzalez (USA) and Scot Marc (USA) in the booth playing 70’s Disco!
The venue was packed!
Ring My Bell (1979)
Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah! (1977)
C’est Chic. (1978)
Shift change time…..
With DJ Mighty Shari (USA) taking over the controls.
We had spotted her earlier at the bar at this beer/wine only venue flanked by DJ Jeff Jefferson (GB) and blogger Jake Wheeler.
Bringing that NY vibe to the club.
They typically play House music here at Morse Code but it was so fun to hear a Disco night.
Since Barbarella relocated about two years ago from downtown Orlando to a suburban warehouse off John Young Parkway, one thing missing has been a sign. That has now been remedied!
DJ Rob Bates (USA) was in the booth when we arrived.
The music on Saturday nights is identical to what they played when they were downtown: 80’s New Wave & Alternative.
We were told it was crowded earlier but even after 1AM, there was still a pretty decent crowd on hand.
We spotted this group of regulars from when Barbarella was downtown.
It’s always a great night of music when Rob Bates is on the controls.
Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
