Club Reports: Room 22, The Robinson, Iron Cow

After last weekend in Boston, it was great to be back last night in downtown Orlando.
It was time for our annual visit to Room 22.
Arriving around 10PM, it was still kind of empty.
The music was 100% Hip Hop during our visit. Not positive but I think this is DJ Nate (USA). Whatever his name, he was in a foul mood last night. Dude, if you don’t like what you’re doing, go do something else.
Orlando doesn’t have a Coyote Ugly so Room 22 is kind of our answer to that. There are drinking games.
There are spankings.
There is dancing on the bar. Interesting place and it can get crowded.
Next we headed over to The Robinson.
Located on the second floor, we took the stairs up to their large bar which was already really busy.
The Disco Room is a separate area that is curtained-off until they let you in at 11PM.
Here we found DJ Chino (USA) playing House. This evolves later into older Top 40 hits.
The curtain had just opened so just a handful on the dance floor initially. The Robinson gets absolutely packed around midnight and the line to get in can stretch down the block so come early.
They also have one pool table up here and it’s free.
We departed downtown to Orlando’s Milk District, home to Iron Cow.
We walked into THIS!
We had missed the opener but we arrived in time to see DJ Jimmy Joslin (USA).
He had the dance floor bouncing!
The dance floor was mostly members of the DJ Johnny Park Fan Club.
The music a mix of Breaks and Classic Dance.
Make sure Saturday, June 29th is marked on your calendar as Jimmy Joslin and myself host the 8TRAX Reunion at The Hammered Lamb joined by former 8TRAX DJ Doc Wells (USA) & DJ Talie (USA). It’s a night of fun 100% 70’s Disco and it’s not too early to be practicing your “YMCA” moves! Admission will be FREE! Flyer soon.
There was time for the traditional Amy/Dorsey photo.
We ran into so many peeps we know from the scene!
DJ O.B. is now DJ Johnny Park (USA), spotted here with Dolly. You can catch him playing on April 26th at Morse Code in downtown Winter Park.
Around 12:30AM, we spotted Megs commiserating with the next DJ…..
Stanton Warriors (GB)
Expected more Breaks but he opened with around 20 minutes of awesome House.
They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls.
Well damn…..they were right! Dancer Kriss Reign (USA).
The IC bar was packed!
It was 1AM and no one was leaving!
That look you get from great music!
They say you can never…..(never mind).
Stanton Warriors are a duo consisting of Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley but in the U.S. market we nearly always just see Dominic.
Breaks, Electro and House kept the floor jammed.
A great night at the Cow and a good time was had by all.
