Club Reports: Arena Art Bar, Elixir Bar, Barbarella

It was great to be back in downtown Orlando last night after nearly three weeks south of the equator. No new ground covered; we simply visited some of our favorites beginning with the Arena Art Bar.
We walked into this active bar scene in the spot many of us better know as Suite B Lounge / Peek Downtown. Spotted behind the bar: Tori & Karly.
We found DJ Madsounds (USA) in the booth and he was pumping out some great vocal House beats!
The Arena Art Bar is themed to some extent as a sports arena. There’s some bleachers.
There are a pair of box seats for those who like to sit close to the action.
There’s a scoreboard too behind the DJ booth.
Just after 11PM, DJ Jose Guerrero (USA) took over the decks.
He would continue the House theme of the evening.
This venue was most-recently home to Ann Teague’s Lamp Supply so stop by and make them an offer!
Next stop, downtown favorite Elixir Bar.
Here the action takes place out on their famous dance patio where we walked into this.
The openers were still playing; alternating duties between DJ Pacho Berrocal (USA) and DJ YASA (USA).
Vocal House music, of course!
They had the dance floor bouncing.
Spotted in VIP.
About ten minutes after midnight, last night’s headliner took over: DJ Fiin (USA).
Dance floor got more crowded.
ABBA (S) Disco hit “Voulez Vous” might have been a House remix, not sure. It sounded exactly like the original and definitely still relevant.
House music all night long!
Fiin is based in Miami.
Staches are back!
We really miss Barbarella being downtown but it’s been two years now since they relocated to a warehouse off John Young Parkway out in suburbia.
Arriving close to 1:30AM, there was still a crowd on the dance floor.
DJ Rob Bates (USA) was in the booth delivering the good stuff.
The Saturday night format is as its always been at Barbarella / Independent Bar, 80’s New Wave and Alternative such as this song by Nitzer Ebb (GB).
Comfort music!
We first met Rob Bates at Independent Bar more than a decade ago!
He hasn’t aged a bit since we took this photo back in 2013 when he operated as DJ Dem Rok.
You know Barbarella is legit since they have not just one but two shiny disco balls above the DJ booth.
Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
