Club Reports: Sunshine Party (MSC Euribia)

By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on. We’re on MSC Euribia doing a 7nt cruise in northern Europe. Advertised as a 60’s/70’s/80’s party, MSC‘s “Sunshine Party” is a tradition on all their ships including the shorter 3-nt cruises.
The evening began early with some dance lessons from these two members of the MSC animation team.
And even before the official party start at 11:15PM, there was already a crowd on the dance floor!
Then dancers from the ship’s theater staff did a quick routine.
DJ Jay Kosch (F) was joined by the real Village People (USA) for a rousing edition of 70’s hit “YMCA”.
70’s Disco dominated the show (as it should) with songs like “Disco Inferno”, “Hot Stuff” and “September”.
There were hippies in the crowd!
As well as among the ship’s staff!
Not as crowded compared to last Friday’s “White Party” but a dockworkers strike in Zeebrugge, Belgium forced a number of people to disembark early in Rotterdam, Netherlands in order to be bussed to the Belgium cruise terminal since the ship had to skip that port.
There was plenty of 80’s too with Rock anthems like “I Love Rock’n’Roll” and “Livin’ On A Prayer” and New Wave favorites such as “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)” and “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”. And yes, there were actually some 60’s songs too for all the old folks onboard such as “La Bamba” and “Run Around Sue”.
One of two DJ’s on this ship, we had met Jay Kosch earlier in the cruise at the White Party. (For a look at the Sunshine Party on our previous cruise on MSC Seaside, click here.)
Confetti explosion!
A good time was had by all.
