Originally scheduled to take place at Bikkuri Lounge, alleged legal issues between that venue and the City of Orlando forced Lost In Trancelation to relocate last night over to one of our favorites, Iron Cow.Stepping inside, we were greeted by Door Hostess & Host Suzy Solar and Brian Benning.Caught the final few minutes of the opening set by DJ Robb Blak (USA).Lost In Trancelation is all about Trance and that’s what Robb Blak was playing, ending with a vocal Trance selection.Openers often face empty dance floors but that was not the case last night. Even at 10PM, there was a crowd already-growing.DJ Brian McCalla (USA) came on next.More than half his selections were Uplifting Trance tunes with vocals.Lost in Trancelation (LIT) shows are all about the Trance genre, something we don’t see enough of here in Orlando.Indeed, the last LIT we attended in Orlando was back in June, 2023 at Bikkuri when DJ Ben Gold (GB) played. Brian McCalla was extremely animated, really getting into his set.He is based in the Cleveland area.Dance floor activity continued to pick-up during his set.Iron Cow has a shiny disco ball over the dance floor so you know they’re legit.Great set!We ran into numerous peeps from the music scene. While some were new, most we knew.When we looked up at the booth after 11PM, the next DJ had come on.One of the instigators of Lost In Trancelation, DJ Suzy Solar (USA).Always adorable!And lots of Uplifting Trance in her set.She had the crowd bouncing.The dance floor was jammed. The bar was jammed. We were pleased the event was moved to Iron Cow which is far more spacious than Bikkuri.We were also pleased that the crowd overall included a lot of young people. There is interest in Trance in the Orlando market.That look you get when the song crashes.Wonderful set. Over the years, LIT events in Orlando have included not just Ben Gold but also other world-class DJ’s such A.L.E.X. Morph (D), The Thrillseekers (GB), Alex Distephano (I) and Sean Tyas (CH). We can’t wait to see who is next.We were told his flight was diverted to Jacksonville because of weather over the Orlando airport and that he was ubering from there to Iron Cow. Yet at midnight, right on time, there he was, the headliner…..DJ M.I.K.E. Push (B)The Belgian-born DJ is originally from Antwerp which is in the Flemish-speaking portion of northern Belgium. Many of the world’s top Trance DJ’s are either from that part of Belgium or from the adjoining Netherlands. Back in 2012 we featured Belgium-originated Dance music, many quite Trancy, on our travel BlogHERE.Dance floor got jammed.Crowd was dancing like they meant it.A mix of Uplifting Trance, Progressive Trance and Tech Trance had the dance floor swooning.M.I.K.E. Push is now based in NYC.They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls.They were right!At Lost in Trancelation last night, a good time was had…..…..by all.
