Friday night in the city and we began our adventures in downtown Winter Park at Morse Code. There are surprisingly few nightlife options in DTWP; their haute restaurants close around 10PM leaving slim choices for those that want to stay out later without getting in a car. Morse Code is a great choice and it’s right there on Morse Blvd. just east of Park Avenue.It’s not really a dance club per se but an upscale bar and restaurant with beer and wine only and charcuterie options. We walked into this.DJ Rob “Freehands” Johanson (USA) was in the booth when we first arrived.The music mostly Old Skool.They often have DJ’s playing; sometimes small bands. We’ve heard the legendary DJ Knightlife (USA) will be playing here sometime in September. Place always gets packed for his shows.DJ Yuri Gonzalez (USA) taking over later.Heading south, we came to Orlando’s Mills/50 District, home to Lil Indies.We came inside, turned the corner and walked into this!It was Michael Jackson (USA) vs Janet Jackson (USA) Night, hosted by DJ BMF (USA).He would play a Michael hit, then play a Janet hit. There was no shortage of hits; Michael had 30 top ten hits and Janet had 27 top ten hits. Some of the selections were played off vinyl.Many of the selections were accompanied by music videos too. Even the Jackson 5 (USA) had 11 songs that made Top Ten on the Billboard charts so there was no shortage of songs to play last night.Great music and Lil Indies‘ full-liquor bar fueled lots of activity on the dance floor.Such a great vibe!Dance floor got packed!Lil Indies has a shiny disco ball over the dance floor so you know they’re legit.DJ BMF did a similar Prince (USA) show back in June and now this. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next!A good time was had by all.Palm Tree Club is located in Live! at the Pointe in Pointe Orlando along International Drive in Orlando’s tourist district. It was our third and final stop last night.Arriving after midnight, we came inside and walked into this!The headliner was already on.DJ Mark Knight (GB)Known as a House and Tech House producer, his set was just about all EDM last night.And he had the dance floor going crazy.He had everyone bouncing.That look you get from great EDM.We’ve seen Mark Knight numerous times over the years including this one at Smirnoff House inside Electric Daisy Carnival Orlando in 2016 where we spotted him taking a selfie with DJ Chris Lake (GB).And this time in 2015 at New City Gas in Montreal.Palm Tree Club doesn’t have a shiny disco ball; they more-appropriately have a shiny disco palm tree.Spotted in the Tech booth: DJ Michael Alfred (USA) with friend. The Tech booth is typically adjacent the DJ booth but rain showers earlier in the evening forced them to move it back here behind the bar. There are certain areas within PTC that are not covered from the elements.Everywhere we went last night…..…..a good time was had by all.
