Club Report: Glow Party @ Mardi Gras Nightclub (Pride Of America)

By now you know that if we’re traveling, we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities we’re in or the ships we’re on. Last Saturday we began a 7-nt sailing on NCL ship Pride of America doing a sailing around the Hawaiian islands. And a few nights ago we revisited the ship’s disco Mardi Gras Nightclub for a cruise ship tradition, the White Party.
While NCL kind of invented the modern reincarnation of white parties with its “White Hot Party”, a few years ago they renamed it the “Glow Party”. And on other NCL sailings we’ve been on, they still recommend you wear white but on this ship that detail was not mentioned in the program.
The music was delivered from this spot on the stage adjacent the dance floor instead of from the DJ booth to the side. Tidal Wave (USA) was as animated as we’ve seen him on this cruise!
Some people knew to wear white but most did not. The party opened with “Cha Cha Slide” and “Rock Your Body Rock”.
Everyone received a glow necklace to wear around your neck or as a headband and later glow wands. Top 40 songs included “I Gotta Feeling”, “Party In the USA” and “Billie Jean”.
The ship’s animation team/fun squad was on hand to keep the dance floor occupied.
We heard some great EDM songs too such as Dua Lipa (AL/GB) hit “Don’t Start Now”, Avicii (S) “Levels”, Far East Movement (USA) “Like a G6” and classic Cascada (D) dance hit “Evacuate the Dance Floor”.
This party was so crowded that the Latin party scheduled to take place after this one was delayed a half-hour in order to keep this one going!
A good time was had by all.
