After four club visits on Friday night, we were back out for three more on Saturday night beginning at Proper. We arrived and walked into this!It was “Vino & Vinyl” night at Proper and we found DJ Stevo (USA) in the aft-located booth. While there was plenty of Vino to go around, no one was playing off vinyl. The music mostly 80’s and 90’s R&B.The club was absolutely packed.Proper has a small bar located up front near the entrance. The rear bar is much larger and brings new meaning to the term “top shelf liquor”.“Vino & Vinyl” only runs until 10PM; DJ Kered (USA) took over the controls next.Proper-sound too with these Danley speakers. And they have a shiny disco ball so you know they’re legit. Proper is located downtown on Orange Avenue between Pine Street and Church Street.Located just around the corner on Pine Street in the former Blue Room spot is Allure. No one dancing but plenty of diners, we walked into this! When they first opened last year the DJ booth was upstairs. It was subsequently brought down to the main level and here we found DJ Triple J (USA).The music mostly light Hip Hop.Their bar is located on the lower level.Very upscale vibe at Allure. Come check it out. Most people know this place as Firestone, the Club at Firestone or Firestone Live. In more recent years, Venue 578. But after a heavy renovation a few years back, it is now The Vanguard.Arriving around 11PM, we walked into this! The opener DJ Pacho Berrocal (USA) was still on when we first arrived. The music a mix of House and Tech House.Around 11:20PM there was a shift change with DJ Chad Andrew (USA/D/CZ) taking over.He had been based in Berlin for many years but the last time we spoke he told me he had relocated to Prague. Not sure if he’s back living in Orlando again or what?A half hour after arriving the dance floor looked like this.DJ had the dance floor bouncing. The Vanguard has a shiny disco ball so you know they’re legit. We ran into a few peeps we know from the local music scene.Big thanks for the professional courtesies! As 12:30AM approached, the lasers began firing. And then all of a sudden and without warning, through the darkness and fog, we caught a glimpse of that hair!It could only be DJ Nicole Moudaber (LEB/GB).While the first two DJ’s were brightly lit on stage, the headliners at The Vanguard are generally kept in the dark and they’re notoriously difficult to photograph. We were better able to take Nicole pics when she played on the neonGARDEN stage at EDC-Orlando a couple years ago.We were first introduced to her music in 2012 when she played at Senso Supper Club as seen in this photo from the Blog archives.Dance floor absolutely jammed! Her set also a mix of mostly House and Tech House. It was hard to move about the place.Everywhere we went last night…..…..a good time was had by all.
