Club Report: Limelight Lounge (Carnival Radiance)

By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on. We’re currently sailing on cruise ship Carnival Radiance and last night finally visited the ship’s main dance club, Limelight Lounge.
This was a 70’s/80’s Night led by DJ Jolly (JA).
The first group to begin dancing was dressed all in white so we were wondering if somehow we missed the announcement this was the White Party night, a tradition on cruise ships.
But within moments the dance floor became packed and the clothing was in all kinds of colors. We heard 70’s songs like “Stayin’ Alive”, “Play That Funky Music”, “And The Beat Goes On”, “Ladies Night” and “Boogie Shoes”.
Dance floor stayed jammed for 80’s hits such as “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”, “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”, I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) and “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life”.
DJ Jolly was quite animated, always bouncing and dancing to the music.
A few years ago a huge refurbishment project took place on Carnival Victory, turning it into Carnival Radiance. The ship’s prior dance club was called Club Arctic but that no longer exists. It appears there is a piano bar where the former club was located. This new club has limited lighting and and no shiny disco ball but you got to take the good with the bad, lol.
It was a fun party though and a good time was had by all.
