By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on. We’re sailing on Norwegian Cruise Line‘s ship Norwegian Dawn, pictured here docked at Port Elizabeth, South Africa.And last night we were back in the ship’s main club, Bliss Lounge. Typically on NCL they will do an ABBA party and that serves as their 70’s Night. But on this sailing they not only did a standalone 70’s Night two nights ago but last night an ABBA/Bee Gees Night!DJ Glenn (RP) was in the booth playing back-to-back ABBA (S) & Bee Gees (GB) hits.The ship’s animation team was represented by these two from Brazil and Bosnia & Herzegovina. Opening with ABBA hit “Dancing Queen” followed by Bee Gees hit “Stayin’ Alive”. The dance floor got jammed almost immediately!The DJ went back-and-forth between the two music groups with songs like “Take A Chance On Me” followed by “Night Fever” and then “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” followed by “Tradegy”. The average age was considerably younger too than one night prior. The influence of hit musical “Mama Mia!” has brought ABBA to the attention of an entire new generation of partiers.Towards the end the DJ went close to 100% ABBA with “SOS”, “Money Money Money” and “Mama Mia”.And “Waterloo”, “Chiquitita” and “Lay All Your Love On Me” which is typically not heard in a club setting but kept the floor packed.We’re looking at doing a 70’s Disco night in downtown Orlando sometime this Spring so stay tuned for information about that. Last night, a good time was had by all.
