Club Reports: Moose & Squirrel, Dragonfly Nightclub (Niagara Falls)

By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on. Visiting the Niagara frontier this weekend, we began Friday night in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. First stop was Moose & Squirrel, no doubt named after that famous moose Bullwinkle and his loyal companion Rocket J. Squirrel.
I expected a little more action here on a Friday night but it was pretty dead. They specialize in local craft brews and Niagara-region wines but hardly anyone was here.
The walls are full of Canadiana but that was the only thing interesting last night.
The next stop was supposed to be Se7en Nightclub which was about a mile walk away. But with a brisk wind and 27F°, that was a big “no way” and we went the other direction to the much-closer Dragonfly Nightclub.
Here we found DJ Matty P (CDN) in the booth…..
And a crowd on the dance floor. Dragonfly is famous for their lighted ceiling over the dance floor!
It changes color (colour here in Canada) too and often appears to be in motion.
A large bar occupies one wall along the entire length of the club with VIP tables on the opposite side.
When we first visited Dragonfly about a decade ago, it was thee place for professionals to hang-out and dance. Nowadays it draws an extremely young student crowd, probably very close to Ontario’s 19-yr old drinking age.
The music last night was mostly current and prior Hip Hop hits with an occasional EDM or Latin song.
But you can never go wrong with Go Go girls.
Interesting place, definitely not what it used to be. Supposed to be a waterfall around this town somewhere but ain’t got no time for that. Last night, a good time was had by all.
