Friday night in Orlando and checking out some clubs. Beginning the evening at new club Proper. It opened in April in the spot previously occupied by Vyce.DJ Blacksuede (USA) was in the booth covering the early shift.Proper‘s music niche is that all the music is played off vinyl. The booth contains an extensive number of platters and of course the DJ’s bring their own stuff too.Even at this early hour, most of the club’s seating booths were occupied and the dance floor was busy as well.A lot of the music had a Disco or Chill House vibe to it and the volume got cranked-up a bit at 10:30PM.Talk about top shelf liquor, wow! Except for special events, admission at Proper is free so come check it out.By now you know that Barbarella relocated from downtown Orlando to the warehouse district off John Young Parkway. They’re open only on Saturday nights for New Wave & Alternative but on the second Friday of each month, they also open for “Memento Mori”, their darker music format.“Memento Mori” resident DJ Lavidicus (USA) was in the booth delivering the tunes.The music mostly Industrial during our visit.Wear your favorite color when you come to “Memento Mori”, as long as your favorite color is black!A lot of the selections last night included vocals including one song completely in German. Fun times at Barbarella. Admission is free so come check it out.The front of the building says only “Sticky Rice” but if you go around back and go upstairs, you’ll find dance club Bikkuri Lounge.Last night was “Lost In Trancelation”, the long-running series of Trance shows. We found DJ Suzy Solar (USA) in the booth when we arrived.Loved her set!Decent-sized crowd in the club.Bikkuri is home to this famous color-changing light wall. And then, there he was, the headliner…..DJ Ben Gold (GB)He would play a lot of selections with vocals too.First time seeing Ben Gold since he played on the Neon Garden Stage at EDC-Orlando back in 2015 as seen above in this archive photo.He had the dance floor bouncing.With the dance floor getting jammed at times!Everywhere we went lat night but especially here at Bikkuri, a good time was had by all.
