70’s Night (MSC Seaview)

It’s great that cruising has returned! This is MSC Seaview docked yesterday at Visby, Sweden. We began the cruise in Kiel, Germany and made a stop at Nynäshamn, Sweden for Stockholm and then here at Visby. While the cruise eventually returns to Kiel, we will get off at the next port, Tallinn, Estonia.
Garage Disco is one of the clubs on board MSC Seaview. It unfortunately is not being used because it is rather small and there are still covid19 concerns for cruise ships.
It is full of retro American kitsch.
Including this old Caddy!
Sunset Beach Pool was home to an opening night event onboard.
Located at the back of the ship, there is a pool as the name would indicate. There is an ice cream parlor on one side and this bar area on the other side.
It was here in the breezeway we found DJ Hagi (ET) in the improvised booth.
There was a contingent on the dance floor. Masks were required everywhere on the ship except in your cabin or when you were actively eating.
Many others, mostly Germans, were using the seating area as their smoking lounge.
The music was Classic Dance hits from the 90’s & 00’s so it was a great show!
Next it was over to the “Dancing Queen” show in the nearby Haven Lounge.
Duo Magic Sound (I) was on the stage playing Abba (S) hits. They had their 70’s Disco shirts on and the singer was in her black bell bottoms.
The ship’s animation team was in attendance as well in their 70’s retro clothing.
Dance floor was occupied for “Dancing Queen”, “Money Money”, “Mama Mia” and others.
A good time was had by all.
