Club Reports: Katpedele, Sky 21 (Klaipėda)

Hello from Klaipėda, Lithuania where we arrived Saturday evening to dreary skies and drizzle. During our travels we try to post some Club Reports but the weather was not cooperative.
The river Danë bisects the city from east to west.
A beautiful (on a sunny day) pedestrian walkway runs along it through the city center and it is lined with bars and restaurants.
It’s definitely an evening gathering place here in Lithuania’s third-largest city.
I had read good reviews of Katpedele so this was our restaurant choice for this first visit to the country.
Known for Lithuanian cooking, the heavy-timbered interior and waitresses in period dresses made for an authentic experience.
Sorry, but had already half-eaten my schnitzel before remembering to take a snap. Lithuanian cuisine can be a bit heavy but being a meat and potatoes person, this was my kind of meal!
In the front room, we got to meet DJ Twin (LT) who was playing mostly American Top 40 hits old and new mixed with some House music.
Our second stop was supposed to be Sky 21 Terrace atop the Amberton Hotel in the rear middle building back there. The open-air club offers a view of the city from around 70m above. Unfortunately, we arrived to find it under renovations and even if not, the rain would have likely kept it closed anyway.
But we did get the view! A very-enjoyable first evening in Klaipėda.
