Club Reports: Viking Crown Lounge, 12 Volt Bar @ Margaritaville, Señor Frog’s (Nassau)

When we’re on holiday we like to post club reports from along the journey. This trip we’re on Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas 3-nt cruise from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas. All RCI ships have a trademark Viking Crown Lounge. On some ships including this one, it serves as the main dance club.
On Saturday night we found DJ Cherry (RP) in the Viking Crown Lounge booth.
A small group had already gathered on the dance floor from the very first song “Copacabana”.
And within minutes it got jammed with a string of 70’s Disco like “Mama Mia”, “Boogie Wonderland” and “Stayin’ Alive”.
Then a shift over to Line Dances with the “Macarena”, “The Wobble” and “Cupid Shuffle”.
And of course, the “Cha Cha Slide”!
Sunday in Nassau and visiting the brand new Margaritaville Resort and their pool watering hole, 12 Volt Bar.
Enjoyed a frosty cold one during the visit, enjoying the music which was mostly Top 40 with a lot of EDM. I asked the bartender if the music was from a DJ or prerecorded and he said they had a DJ playing and pointed the way.

The DJ booth was located on a “mountain” overlooking the resort pools and lazy river.

Here we found DJ Country (BS) providing the entertainment.
Beautiful little beach here overlooking the cruise ships. The building out there under construction will be home to a new restaurant and the resort’s club. Come check out the new Margaritaville Resort in downtown Nassau.
Last stop in Nassau was at the city’s ultimate party place, Señor Frog’s.
DJ Wicked (BS) was in the booth here playing mostly Hip Hop hits.
The dance floor had a small contingent.
It can get pretty wild at Señor Frog’s with their drinking games but things were tame during our visit.
But a good time was had by all.
