Club Reports: Monkey Bar, Barbarella, Elixir Bar, Celine Nightclub By King Bob in Club Reports January 29, 2022 The coldest night of this winter…..so far! Friday night looking for House music downtown and beginning that search at Monkey Bar. Located in Wall St. Plaza, we found resident DJ Dity (USA) in the booth delivering the good stuff! The inside bar was beginning to draw a crowd. While the outside balcony bar, despite the chill, was busier. Guest DJ Designer Trash (USA) taking over at 11PM and switching it over to more Vocal House. Come check out Monkey Bar Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights for great music! Next stop Barbarella, home every Friday night to Discothèque. But the music last night was overshadowed by the announcement that Barbarella aka Independent Bar is closing permanently at the end of February! They’ll be moving to a new location away from downtown so they will still be around, just not here! In the booth we found DJ Extraa (USA) playing House and Disco. Just a few on the dance floor at this early hour. But activity would slowly pick up. With DJ Flashdrive (USA) taking over around midnight. The new location for Barbarella has not been announced so we’ll keep you updated. We have found out that Discothèque will only have one additional show next Friday night ft. DJ Moscoman (IL). Advance tickets can be found here. One place not moving is Elixir Bar. Arrived to catch the final minutes of a Minimal Techno set from DJ Viera (USA). Followed immediately by DJ Duke (USA). Going more House / Tech House than his predecessor. So cold though that their famous dance floor was a bit spartan. Although there was a contingent of dancers back behind the bar! Spotted on the dance floor: Amber & Ava with DJ Meeyoww (USA). DJ Duke was one of the DJ’s on last week’s Groove Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean‘s Mariner of the Seas. So where was everyone last night? Last stop of the night was Celine Nightclub. Here they were! For DJ ACRAZE (USA). Playing his remix hit “Do It To It” late in the program. It was the song most-played by the most DJ’s at last November’s Electric Daisy Carnival – Orlando. We actually had a better view of him at EDC, lol. We’ve been at Celine for some huge name DJ’s before and some big crowds, but nothing like this! It was next to impossible to move about the place. ACRAZE is actually from the Orlando area. A good time was had by all. Social:TwitterFacebookEmailLinkedInRedditTumblrPinterestWhatsAppPocketTelegramLike this:Like Loading...
