Club Reports: Monkey Bar, Barbarella, Elixir Bar

Located in the Wall St. Plaza complex downtown, we began our Friday night at Monkey Bar.
Inside we found DJ Dity (USA) with a guest in the booth.
The crowd inside was beginning to build for House music.
Fewer people on the outdoor balcony but this area gets crowded too later.
Wall St. Plaza is jammed with bars playing Hip Hop and Top 40 while Monkey Bar is the only place you’ll hear the good stuff. DJ Dity plays here every Friday and Saturday night so come check it out!
Barbarella has become a “go to” venue on Friday nights with their new “Discotheque” night.
DJ Cactus & Bricks (USA) was in the booth playing Nu Disco when we arrived.
The dance floor was beginning to see some activity.
DJ Demi Korrin (USA) would take over shortly thereafter and continue the vibe.
It’s a young crowed out for the music that melds that old Disco sound with newer Nu Disco and House.
And the dance floor got pretty damn jammed!
DJ Monsanto (USA) taking over late and delivering more of a House sound.
I told him I hadn’t seen him play since his days a half-dozen years ago at the old Sound Bar. LINK
One thing that is not changing here at Barbarella are their Saturday night 80’s New Wave night. You may see some guest DJ’s but that music you love on Saturday nights is here for you!
Rain downtown earlier in the evening made the famous Elixir Bar patio a big question mark last night but the skies cleared and all was good.
And we walked outside into this!
Already in the booth upon arrival, headliner DJ German Brigante (E).
And as is to be expected when they have world class talent playing, packed!
Jammed in all directions!
Spotted up front: DJ Dack (USA), Amelia & Storm
Spotted near the DJ booth: Dina & Babita
Spotted on the dance floor: AAHZ Kid, Ashley & friends.
Spotted on the dance floor: Traci & Christa
Spotted by the bar: Farrah & Sydney
Mostly non-vocal House music that drifted onto the Tech House side at times!
The Malaga-based DJ had the crowd bouncing.
Another great show at Elixir!
A good time was had by all.
