Club Reports: Red Frog Pub, Mega Deck Party, Medusa’s Lair (Carnival Legend)

By now you know that if I’m traveling I like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships I’m on. Sailing on Carnival Legend this trip on a 6-nt cruise to Bermuda, the cruise was all-too-soon drawing to a conclusion and reality wasn’t far ahead. So we needed to check out some of the ship’s entertainment choices at least one more time! (Ship pictured here at King’s Wharf, Bermuda)
Red Frog Pub is a feature found on numerous Carnival ships. On some ships it’s a bar on the pool deck but on Carnival Legend it’s located separately on Deck 2 Forward.
The live band Mashup (BR) was a feature each night in RFP, playing American Top 40 hits.
Always a crowd in the club for those preferring a slower pace.
Next it was over to the pool deck for Carnival’s Mega Deck Party! Carnival Legend has never been retrofitted with a monitor over the pool so we’re borrowing this visual from last month’s sailing aboard Carnival Magic.
Here we found DJ Lindy Legend (BZ) back in perch delivering the tunes.
DJ Kate (USA) would help lead some of the line dances.
While the ship’s Cruise Director Cam (USA) would play the MC role.
We began with “YMCA”.
A speed-increasing mashup of “Macarena” and the German “Chicken Dance” brought humor to the floor.
And you can’t have a party without “The Wobble”.
However, taking place at exactly the same time as the Mega Deck Party was a “70’s Groove” Party in the ship’s disco and we didn’t want to miss that! So we switched over to Medusa’s Lair on Deck 2 aft.
And here we found DJ Mary Lu (RA) delivering the good stuff!
The club’s amazing lighted dance floor didn’t have any takers because everyone was still upstairs at the pool party.
Finally once couple up for “Get Down On It” and “Shake Your Booty”.
And with the pool party concluding, more people arrived for songs like “Boogie Wonderland” and “Brick House”.
And getting down for “Freak Out” and “Car Wash”.
All under with watchful eye of Medusa!
DJ Lindy arrived to take over the late shift and continued awhile longer with 70’s Disco before switching over to club hits.
Dance floor was jammed!
You’ll only find this 2-story dance club format on Carnival Legend, Carnival Spirit, Costa Atlantica (future Margaritaville at Sea Islander) and Costa Mediterranea.
It’s been a great cruise with outstanding entertainment options onboard. A good time was had by all.
