Concert Report: Tiësto (The Vanguard)

The Vanguard was the place to be last night in Orlando as the Insomniac-programmed club brought famed DJ Tiësto to town!
We arrived early to snag a great spot on the dance floor. We found DJ Cliff T (USA) in the booth!
Cliff is the Friday night resident DJ at Aero Bar downtown. When we saw him Friday night he said he had planned two different possible paths to go with his music on Saturday night, depending on the mood of the crowd. We now know the path he took: Trance, yes!
Mostly non-vocal Trance in the beginning and then more vocal Trance towards the end of his 1hr,15 min set, Cliff also delivered some House for his final songs.
It was wise to arrive early last night because the floor got packed during his set!
View from VIP down onto the main floor.
After his set, we spotted Cliff in VIP along with brother Brian and beautiful wife Kelley.
Next up, DJ Edgar V (USA).
First time seeing Edgar V in Orlando since he played at Electric Daisy Carnival in 2018.
His mostly House set had everyone bouncing!
Wall-to-wall!
We spotted the Miami-based DJ on the Camping World Stadium skydeck during that EDC. PHOTO LINK
Packed to the rafters! Spotted in those rafters at the far right: DJ Ish (USA).
And then, there he was! The headliner, DJ Tiësto (NL).
Tiësto’s early fame came from Trance but in recent years he’s been firmly planted in House and EDM.
Everyone trying to get that perfect Tiësto picture!
Last night’s set was mostly EDM.
Pre-covid, Tiësto was home-based in Las Vegas at club Hakkasan in the MGM Grand.
Tiësto played in Miami on Friday night but Orlando got him on a Saturday night. That shows how far Orlando has come recently to become, what I’ve previously labeled, “the center of the DJ universe!” He was in a great mood too last night with lots of smiles, pointing and bouncing!
Actually, everyone was in a great mood!
Tiësto was in the news a couple weeks ago when it was announced he signed a residency at the brand new club Zouk in the also-brand new Resorts World Las Vegas casino. We hope to check that place out this Fall.
Over the years we’ve seen Tiësto at several music festivals but outside Las Vegas it’s rare to see him do a club set. So last night was extra special which is why it was completely SOLD OUT!
All the DJ’s had great sets and a good time was had by all.
