The name is now Vanguard <\/em>but the triangular sign was previously filled with now-historic names such as Venue 578, Firestone Live<\/em> and The Club at Firestone<\/em>. And last night around back in their parking lot, Day 1 of music festival Boo! Orlando<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After making my way through the queues, arrived to find this!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
DJ duo Atliens (USA) was on the stage when I arrived.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And the crowd looked like this!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Their Dubstep and Heavy Bass set had the heads banging!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Presented by Insomniac<\/em>, the group that delivers us Electric Daisy Carnival<\/em> during a normal year, the grounds had several spooky features.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

\"\"
This chick looked pretty real in the dark!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The ATL in their names comes from their home in Atlanta. The lighted goggles is reminiscent of DJ Rezz (CDN) who we saw at EDC – Orlando in 2017<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

With our first real “cold” front having passed through Thursday night, the weather was absolutely amazing with a slight chill and no humidity!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
There were numerous sanitation stations throughout the grounds and mask-wearing was mandatory.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
There were also portable sinks.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
There was only one food truck and it stayed busy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Also one sushi stand.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
There was a long tent full of bars.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
But they probably lost out on repeat drink sales because the line was long.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
At 8PM, DJ Saymyname (USA) took over.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
He mixed the expected Heavy Bass with generous amounts of EDM so I liked his set much better than when I saw him on the circuitGROUNDS <\/em>stage at EDC <\/em>in 2018.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Didn’t hear any official attendance figures but I’d estimate around 4,000. And this was taking place while another music festival was taking place out at the Central Florida Fairgrounds<\/em>!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

For Saymyname and the others, this was a first performance after many months of sequestering and they all expressed excitement to be playing again. Right now Orlando is at the center of the nation’s DJ concert universe!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Lots of costumes too on this Halloween Eve.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At 9PM, DJ duo Loud Luxury (CDN). I last saw them play at Uniun <\/em>in Toronto in 2018 but the first time was in 2017 at Gilt <\/em>when they were relatively unknown and had opened for Borgeous (USA). Link<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Dressed in gold and premiering their new EDM single “Like Gold<\/a>“.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The loudest roar from the crowd came when they played their biggest hit “Body (On My Innocence)<\/a>“. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The concert ran from 6PM to 11PM and was thus fast-paced. At 10pm, the evening’s headliner, Carnage (USA)!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The heads were a-banging!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
But while Carnage delivered the expected Dubstep & Heavy Bass, he was also much more mainstream than when I’ve seen him previously. Very cool. We last saw him in 2015 at EDC-Orlando.<\/em> Link<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Boo! Orlando<\/em> continues tonight with a lineup that includes Drezo (USA), Nitti Gritti (USA) and the so called Persian Godfather of House, DJ Valentino Khan (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The new Friday night takes place at Studio 27<\/em> on Church Street!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Featuring DJ Jimmy Joslin (USA). Not sure how he got here so fast since I had just seen him at Boo!<\/em> but here he was.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Already a decent crowd on hand around midnight.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
It will take awhile for this new night to catch on but already at least double the number of patrons compared to last Friday.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The music is Breaks and Old Skool Breaks!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We walked by new club Eden Lounge <\/em>which is where Bar B<\/em> used to be. Did not stay but will report on it next weekend.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Last stop Iron Cow<\/em>, located away from downtown in Orlando’s Milk District.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

DJ Ediz (BG\/USA) was on stage upon arrival.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

His Techno set had everyone bouncing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

His “Eastern Block<\/em>” brand has brought many DJ’s from Eastern Europe to Orlando.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At 1AM, the headliner: DJ Victor Calderone (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Mixing up Techno and Tech House.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

That look great Techno gives you!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We saw Victor Calderone at Elixir Bar <\/em>in 2019 but he also played at EDC-Orlando<\/em> in 2012<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Iron Cow<\/em> has had some great DJ concerts lately with more coming!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
