Yes, we know it’s been 17 years since Pleasure Island<\/em> closed but when we cross over the No. 2 Bridge<\/em> to the Island<\/em>, the pulse still quickens and there’s still a hint of perspiration. And we still wish they’d correct that damn typo on the Morimoto <\/em>sign; that’s not how you spell Mannequins<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We arrived in Disney Springs<\/em> Marketplace <\/em>just in time to catch DJ Atomic Blonde (USA) leading the DJ Sleigh.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It operates hourly between 5:30PM and 9:30PM nightly. It’s actually operated by that guy walking beside the sleigh from a control panel in his sidepack. Reminds me of back in 2000 when PUSH <\/em>the Garbage Can was running for Mayor of Tomorrowland <\/em>as spotted HERE<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Also in Disney Springs Marketplace<\/em> at the Waterside Stage<\/em>, a crowd was growing for their evening show.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Here we got to meet DJ Brittany Bunches (USA) playing EDM and Christmas music.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
It’s a family dance party and she had both the kids and parents bouncing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Between DJ sets, Bing! (USA) was singing classic Bing Crosby Christmas songs and his choir did a wonderful job of sounding Retro 40’s. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Crossing back over to the Island <\/em>and walking up Hill Street<\/em>, we first stopped at STK<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There’s a small bar scene here but it’s been years since we actually saw people dancing.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In the booth providing dinnertime music, DJ Marc Sparcs (USA) playing Tech House.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

When STK <\/em>first opened the music was deliberately loud so that it was next to impossible to talk to your party. (It was thus a great place to go on a first date lol.) However, a few years ago they toned-it down and it’s much more pleasant now. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Across West End Plaza<\/em> from STK <\/em>is The Edison Orlando<\/em>, located in the former Adventurers Club<\/em> building.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The long reign of the Sound Society Radio Show<\/em> ended a few months ago and they have a new Jazz band.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

With vocals by the very gothy Holly Dodd (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This stairway in the aft section of The Edison<\/em> screams Adventurers Club<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Crossing over to Disney Springs West Side<\/em>, the “Springs In Motion” dance party remains in business every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening from 5PM to 9PM.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It too is family-oriented with a great backdrop of Village Lake<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Always great to see DJ Lex (USA) on the controls.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The music is mostly Top 40; Lex is so animated which is perfect for the many kids likely experiencing their very first DJ.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A good time was had by all.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At this juncture we left Disney Springs<\/em> and headed to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort<\/em>, home to Disney<\/em>‘s only remaining owned and operated dance club, Atlantic Dance Hall<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In the booth here, DJ Mynd (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

At ADH <\/em>there’s always a mix of old and new Top 40 hits, EDM and even some classic Hip Hop hits. We also heard some Classic Rock remixes and Freestyle during our visit.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

They open at 8PM and we arrived a half hour later to no one on the dance floor.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
But that quickly changed as clubbers arrived.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It’s one of the few Orlando-area clubs where some of the patrons wear Mouse <\/em>ears. Come to think of it, it’s the only<\/strong> Orlando-area club where some of the clubbers wear Mouse <\/em>ears.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Now open nightly, admission and parking are free at Atlantic Dance Hall<\/em>.
