‘Twas the Friday before Halloween so we needed to check out the two “gothiest” events in metro Orlando. We began with “Black Friday” taking place at Manikins <\/em>in downtown Sanford.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We arrived around 10PM and walked into this!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
In the booth, the legendary DJ Paul Vaine (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
“Black Friday” is actually a weekly event at Manikins <\/em>with just a $5 cover charge.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The music a mix of Industrial, Darkwave, Punk, Modern Goth and more.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Paul Vaine is most-famous for his residency at the old Visage <\/em>nightclub but we didn’t become familiar with him and his music until years later at 11\/12 Lounge<\/em> in Winter Park.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Manikins <\/em>has an outdoor courtyard behind the main room where we spotted this.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Manikins <\/em>is famous for its numerous mannequins which can be found throughout the club.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
When you see some of them standing along the dance floor, it’s often hard to tell in the complete darkness whether it’s an actual person or a mannequin.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Some are pretty real looking.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Heck, during my very first visit here a few years ago, this chick was seated at one of the bars and I was hitting on her for close to ten minutes before I realized she was a mannequin!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A good time was had by all.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We next relocated to Winter Park and The Axe Trap<\/em> which is now home to Barbarella 3.0<\/em> every Saturday night. And last night it was home to Barbarella<\/em>‘s wilder cousin, “Memento Mori”.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We arrived around midnight and walked into this!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
In the booth, “Memento Mori” resident DJ Lavidicus (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

With this crowd one didn’t know if some were wearing Halloween costumes or just their normal Goth garb.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The music a mix of Industrial, Synthpop, Goth, Power Noise and other dark genres. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
At Barbarella 2.0<\/em> the “Memento Mori” events took place the 2nd Friday night of every month but we’ve yet to hear if this will return as a monthly event here at Barbarella 3.0<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Barbarella 3.0 <\/em>has a full liquor bar. And the cover charge is just $10.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
