Yesterday we flew into Pensacola to do just that. Here we were making the turn to land at <em>Pensacola International Airport <\/em>(PNS) while we passed over the runways of <em>NAS Pensacola<\/em> (NPA), home of the <em>U.S. Navy<\/em>&#8216;s Blue Angels. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"540\" width=\"720\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.orlandoentertainmentnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/DSCN1030-1024x768.jpg?resize=720%2C540&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26038\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Just a few miles to the west along I-10 is the Alabama state line.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"540\" width=\"720\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.orlandoentertainmentnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/DSCN1032-1024x768.jpg?resize=720%2C540&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26039\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">And a half-hour later, the I-10 tunnels under the Mobile River and entry into Mobile. (Side Note: Did you know that there are 4 underwater road tunnels in Florida and 2 of them are in Orange County?)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"540\" width=\"720\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.orlandoentertainmentnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/DSCN1033-1024x768.jpg?resize=720%2C540&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26040\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The destination: <em><strong>Morrison&#8217;s Cafeteria<\/strong><\/em>. There is just 1 remaining <em>Morrison&#8217;s<\/em> in the world and that&#8217;s this one in Mobile, Alabama. <em>Morrison&#8217;s <\/em>was purchased by <em>Piccadilly Cafeterias<\/em> in 1998 and converted all of them to <em>Piccadilly <\/em>except this one. Have fond memories of the one on SR436 in Altamonte Springs and it seems like there was one in Orlando near <em>Colonial Plaza<\/em>. (Sadly, the only remaining <em>Piccadilly Cafeteria<\/em> in Florida is in Hollywood.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"540\" width=\"720\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.orlandoentertainmentnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/DSCN1034-1024x768.jpg?resize=720%2C540&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26041\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">It&#8217;s just like we remembered them with cafeteria-style servings of roast beef, fried chicken, liver &amp; onions&#8230;..<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"540\" width=\"720\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.orlandoentertainmentnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/DSCN1035-1024x768.jpg?resize=720%2C540&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26042\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">&#8230;..and sausage, fried fish, southern vegetables such as turnip greens and fried okra. Comfort food!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"540\" width=\"720\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.orlandoentertainmentnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/DSCN1036-1024x768.jpg?resize=720%2C540&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26043\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Morrison&#8217;s<\/em> still has chocolate cream pie, coconut cream pie, strawberry shortcake!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"540\" width=\"720\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.orlandoentertainmentnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/DSCN1037B-1024x768.jpg?resize=720%2C540&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26046\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Fit for a King! My meal&#8230;..meat &amp; potatoes, of course!
