By now you know that if we\u2019re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we\u2019re on. And last night we were in Buffalo, New York at the Buffalo Convention Center<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

For an annual event that has to be one of the most amazing spectacles ever, The World’s Largest Disco<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We usually do GA but last night got to partake in VIP. It opens an hour earlier than the regular event and you arrive into this large room deeply stuck in the 1970’s!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
With 70’s Disco music playing of course, generated by DJ Roger Christian (USA) from Buffalo’s Oldies station, WECK <\/em>AM1230.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And OMG, this<\/em> was the dance floor!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
He pumped out Disco classics like “Ring My Bell” (1979) , “Jive Talkin” (1975) and “Love Machine” (1975). <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We were told the dance floor was brand new, being used for the first time ever! Not a scuff on it!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The live band Disco Unlimited (USA) took over next.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Disco clothes were in abundance with plenty of flower power, bell bottoms and platforms!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Lots of metallics too!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Deney Terrio (USA), famous for being the host of 70’s\/80’s television program “Dance Fever” and being the dance instructor for actor John Travolta (USA) for film “Saturday Night Fever”, showed everyone he still got it!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Band songs included “Dancing Queen” (1976), “Stayin’ Alive” (1977), “Rock The Boat” (1974) and “Brick House” (1977). <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
While the VIP party continued, we headed up to the convention center which had now opened for GA. We passed the entry queue in the foyer which stretched outdoors! WLD <\/em>holds around 7,000 people.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We rode the escalator up to find THIS!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Our favorite Disco hit “Funkytown” (1980) was playing upon arrival upstairs.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The convention center walls were surrounded by photos from many 70’s television hits.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Entry to WLD <\/em>included 8 drink tickets good for water, soft drinks (or Pop as they call it up here in Buffalo), beer\/wine and mixed drinks. Additional drink tickets could be purchased for just $1 each meaning my vodka tonics cost just $7 each. That’s pretty good compared to Orlando prices!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There was a new radio sponsor this year. The long-running Star 102.5 WTSS<\/em> Buffalo was replaced by Kiss 98.5 WKSE<\/em> Buffalo.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Plenty of photo ops!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
By 10PM the dance floor was already packed!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Shortly thereafter, the annual Drag show!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Everyone groovin’ to songs like “Everybody Dance” (1977), “Shake That Groove Thing” (1978) and…..<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
“Car Wash” (1976)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Deney Terrio did a number for us on the main stage.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
This year’s special music guests came on next, The Sugar Hill Gang (USA) doing “Rappers Delight” (1979). They still got it too!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Barrier mania to see them perform!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
You know this place is legit, just look at all those shiny disco balls!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Dave Pietrowski, the creator and organizer of World’s Largest Disco<\/em> was then up to thank the crowd for their support for this 30th edition of the event. WLD <\/em>is a children’s charity event for Camp Good Days<\/em><\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Oh yes it’s “Ladies Night” (1979) and the feeling’s right…..! <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The 70’s may have been 50 years ago, but no matter your age, you know the words to these songs!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
This year’s celebrity panel was available for photo-taking. Actor Christopher Knight (USA) who played Peter Brady on 70’s sitcom “The Brady Bunch” was the most-famous, in our opinion!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
“Boogie Wonderland” (1979), “Do You Wanna Funk” (1982) and “We Are Family” (1979) among others as the dance floor stayed packed!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Mike from Kiss 98.5 <\/em>was pushing out the bangers!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
As was Dave. Great view from the booth!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Forgot to get the Tech’s name but he kept so many things working!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The World’s Largest Disco<\/em> is an absolutely amazing <\/em>event! They sell-out every year, usually within a couple days of their availability, so get on their emailing list now here<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Believe us, you haven’t lived until you’ve sung “Y.M.C.A.” (1979) in unison with 6,999 of your closest friends! The feeling is euphoric!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
