When we walked into Wall Street Plaza<\/em> last night, Country music was being played everywhere. WTF! Fortunately, there is an island oasis above the twang, Monkey Bar<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Even though it was early, the inside bar was already active.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
They have an outdoor bar too on the balcony overlooking Wall Street.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Resident DJ Dity (USA) was in the booth playing some of that good stuff…..House!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
He was going b2b all evening with DJ Spock Ninja (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A beer pong table has been added since our last visit.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We had most recently seen Spock Ninja play at The Vanguard <\/em>where he opened for DJ Ben Nicky (GB). He is seen here on the Monkey Bar<\/em> dance floor with DJ Jane.Doe (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
New club Proper <\/em>still doesn’t have a sign so we rely on this floor mat to locate the entrance!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Right at the entrance, the front bar.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
With a hint of September coolness in the air, the front overhead door was open last night.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Most of the action was happening at the rear bar.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Damn, talk about “top shelf” liquor!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In the booth, DJ Shmu (USA) playing Disco.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The music requirement at Proper <\/em>is that the DJ’s play off vinyl. The club comes with a large selection of records to choose from but DJ’s usually bring their own crates, old school style.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There’s no dress code at Proper <\/em>so the Guys are typically in jeans and the Ladies know how to do it right!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Located just off Orange Avenue in SODO, a first visit to Rockpit Brewing<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Where we walked into this!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

DJ CruDawg (USA) was just finishing his set when we arrived and Breaks were the order of the evening.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Large crowd in the club but they kept hanging back with just a few brave enough to come forward.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Rockpit Brewing <\/em>has a large bar area staffed with colorful bartenders.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And as their name would suggest, they brew their own beer!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Just before coming on to play, spotted here with Brittany, Miami-based…..<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Going b2b with this other Miami-based DJ…..<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And the dance floor would stay jammed!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Having played before we arrived, DJ Berto (USA) with Katey.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Also having played before we arrived, DJ Phin (USA) spotted here with DJ Gamma (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We ran into so many peeps from the scene; some we knew and some we didn\u2019t but do now!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In fact, the music was so good that at one point one of the bartendresses abandoned her post and got on the dance floor!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It was suddenly 1AM and these two were up next!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

DJ Solstice (USA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And DJ Spark-D (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Rockpit Brewing<\/em> is a great venue. It’s spacious, it’s clean and they make their own beer! We hope to see some more events in here in the coming months.
