Another ship, another 70’s Night! By now you know that if we\u2019re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we\u2019re on. Here on Norwegian Star<\/em>, it was time for some Disco!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

With the hits delivered by live band Rhythm Jive (RP).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The show opened with “YMCA” with the ship’s animation team occupying much of the dance floor.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
But within moments, songs like “I Will Survive” and “Last Dance” had the floor packed!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The entertainment staff was dressed in their 70’s finest.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A great improvement over last month’s cruise on Norwegian Jewel<\/a><\/em> where only the cruise director wore 70’s threads and the staff did not. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Rhythm Jive does a great job replicating the sound of the classic hits such as “Mama Mia”, “Play That Funky Music” and “You Should Be Dancing”.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After the band set ended the 70’s continued, provided by resident DJ Vito (RP).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Songs like “Dancing Queen” “Oh What A Night” and “Take A Chance On Me” kept the floor packed.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A good time was had by all.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Early this morning we approached Cape Horn, at the southernmost tip of South America. Celebrity Infinity<\/em> was also passing during our visit. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A caretaker family from the Chile Armada resides in the home on the island. There is also a lighthouse tower and small church. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
There is also the famous Albatross Memorial<\/a> (on the hill on the right). It’s a memorial to the more than 10,000 mariners that have died near this spot. At 56\u00b0 South Latitude, this is where the Atlantic meets the Pacific and is often home to vicious storms with high winds and huge waves. The next piece of land to the south is Antarctica. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Back on the pool deck forward, DJ Vito was playing Top 40.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

While on the pool deck aft, there was a “baptism” ceremony of sorts for passengers and crew who had earlier experienced “rounding the Horn” for the first time. Cruise Director Elizabeth (GB) and animation team member Augustina (RA) poured cold ocean water over the victims<\/s> volunteers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
