As you know, when we travel we like to visit local bars and clubs to check out the scene. In Boston this past weekend, we of course had to visit Cheers<\/em>. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The original bar inspired the hit TV sitcom of the same name which ran from 1982 to 1993 and forever since in syndicated reruns.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Like its television namesake, Cheers <\/em>is located in the basement of this building. There was a large crowd outside waiting to get in.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Also like the television show, there is a long wood bar occupying most of the room surrounded by a number of small tables. As there would be a long wait to get served, we didn’t stick around that long.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

In another room at the rear there is a Cheers <\/em>logo store selling souvenirs. But with tee shirts priced at $38 and even a measly fridge magnet costing $10, the shop was clearly for bigger fans of the Cheers <\/em>show than we were. Nonetheless, from the looks of the patrons excited to be at the bar, a good time was had by all.
