Originally called 180 Grey Goose Lounge<\/em> and then 180 Skytop Lounge<\/em>, the new name for this mostly outdoor dance club is Skylounge at Amway Center<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We arrived last night near 11PM and walked into this on their outdoor patio.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
When you see the SHADE<\/em> marquee, you know it’s going to be a great night of Techno! Last night’s show was presented by SHADE <\/em>and Vizion1<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
In the perch at this early hour, DJ Matthias (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Even at this early hour…..<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
He had the dance floor jammed!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
If there’s a Techno show in town, there’s a good chance Matthias will be there. Over the past few years we’ve seen him playing at clubs such as Celine <\/em>and Elixir<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Skylounge at Amway Center<\/em> has a spectacular view of Interstate 4. Road geeks should not miss this.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Over on the other side of the expressway, new competitor Skybar <\/em>on the 18th floor of the AC Hotel by Marriott<\/em> has the height advantage. But their westward-facing view is actually a disadvantage because there’s not that much to see.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
While the eastward-facing Skylounge <\/em>gets a view of the entire downtown skyline!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Over in the corner, this tower changes colors each evening representing something significant. For instance, blue & white means there’s an Orlando Magic<\/em> game taking place inside Amway Center<\/em>. If we recall correctly, blue & blue means the Magic <\/em>has squandered yet another first round draft pick.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Around midnight, shift change.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The actual perpetrator of the SHADE <\/em>brand!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Dance floor getting packed!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Techno brought out the crowd!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Carlos had the floor bouncing!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It does my heart proud to see how the “youngsters” have embraced electronic music. A dozen years ago Hip Hop dominated the American dance scene but here we are!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Carlos Mendoza is part of usually Techno-oriented “Sundown Sundays<\/em>” each weekend at The Patio<\/em>. Every Sunday night the long-running event features himself, DJ Dominick Morrison (USA) and guest local & internationally touring DJ’s.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Because of a cancelled flight followed by another delayed flight from Washington DC, the headliner was running late and there was concern she wouldn’t make it in time.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

But at 1:43AM, her entourage arrived from MCO<\/em> and pushed her through the cheering crowd!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And by 1:45AM, she was playing!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

And she went Hard Techno on us!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Everyone so excited!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Madrid-based DJ was also excited to finally get here after what was no doubt a grueling day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
