Orlando Entertainment News<\/em> has previously reported about 1-Up<\/em>, the new “barcade” opening downtown on Church Street. Besides an arcade full of video games, it will feature 80’s & 90’s music. They’re scheduled to open sometime next month!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This spot had previously been advertised as the future home of Seychelles Seafood & Steak House<\/em> but that’s not happening and the game room is a far better idea!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The last venue located here was called Danny & Pats<\/em> but I don’t recall it lasting very long.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Before that, Schumann’s Jager Haus<\/em> was here, a bar with a German-themed restaurant. It lasted a few years, we believe.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Before that, the fairly popular Asian-themed dance club Dragon Room<\/em> once-occupied this spot.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

But the big news in today’s story is that immediately next door to 1-Up<\/em> will be Go Go’s Disco Lounge<\/em>. YES, a Disco-themed venue is coming to Church Street! Long live 8TRAX<\/a><\/em>!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Bar None Creations<\/em>, the creative mastermind that brought us the Halloween-themed Cocktails & Screams<\/em> over on Pine Street (that is also converting 1-Up<\/em>), is behind this conversion too. As you can see on the door, it’s scheduled for a Summer opening. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We have no inside information but we’re hoping to see a colorful 70’s-style lighted dance floor like this one we saw in Miami last month during Music Week<\/em>!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What spot is Go Go’s Disco<\/em> going to occupy? Most recently it was home to Studio 27<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And before that, Native Social Bar<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And most famously before that, Mako’s<\/em>. Both 1-Up<\/em> and Go Go’s<\/em> could bring something to Church Street that has long been missing…..people!
