Taking place outside in the large parking lot of The Vanguard<\/em>, last night was Day 1 of a new mini-festival called “Factory93 Presents: Skyline”<\/em>, presented by Insomniac<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Different than their previous mini-festivals “Abduction” back in April and “Boo!” last October, the queues and check-in stations were constructed across Concord Street from the venue.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Extremely efficient process, designed to keep the lines moving. ID Check fist.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Then quickly get your ticket scanned.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And then the security check.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And you were inside. And it’s only then that you realize Concord Street itself is part of the festival grounds rather than outside it.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And down at the end of Concord Street, near the SunRail <\/em>tracks, Stage 2 “The Alley”.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Just a few people inside at this early hour.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
DJ duo MASF (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A local DJ group, we’ve seen them numerous times at clubs such as Celine<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Now into The Vanguard<\/em> parking lot itself.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
With the queue outside the grounds, much more room inside the grounds. Insomniac <\/em>learned that with Electric Daisy Carnival – Orlando<\/em> where they began using space beneath Camping World Stadium<\/em> (then Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium<\/em>) for their check-ins, leaving much more room for the event.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

For these mini-festivals, the main stage keeps getting larger. Stage 1,”The Factory”.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
DJ duo Meen (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
People continued to stream-in. And while the afternoon sun remained above the horizon, it was HOT!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Several “selfie” spots were scattered throughout the festival.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
For taking pictures with your squad.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
DJ changes just about every hour kept the pace moving!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
DJ duo Cocodrills (USA) are always fun to listen to.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
While the crowd rapidly grew.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
We had seen the Miami-based duo play last November at Elixir<\/em><\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Over at Stage 2, another local DJ duo, Too Heavy Crew (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
House music all night long.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
They were followed DJ Anabel Englund (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
First time seeing this DJ based in southern California, playing a mix of House and EDM.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And then she exclaimed, “And now the moment you’ve been waiting for.” Everyone waiting for what was coming next. And she pulled out the microphone and began singing the vocals to at least the next half dozen songs! It was great.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

While never as crowded as the main stage, the second stage was always jammed too.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
OK, back to Stage 1.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
A Techno \/ Tech House set from DJ Serge Devant (RUS).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Haven’t seen him play Orlando since 2019 at Celine<\/em>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Main stage really starting to get busy now.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Spotted on the dance floor: Dina with some new Canadian friends from Toronto.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Spotted near the bar: Naples-based DJ John The Ripper (USA) and Jeremy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Spotted on the pavement: Jose & Griselle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

8PM arrived quickly and time for another DJ switch.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
DJ Blond:ish (CDN) returning the stage to House music.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Jammed now as far as the eye could see.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Everyone in such a great mood for the event. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
While over at Stage 2, DJ Lucatti (USA).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
And a big crowd here too as dusk arrived.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Skyline Festival<\/em> named for the setting.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
There were several food booths on the main grounds but there were also 5 food trucks hidden beside Concord Street. Unfortunately, since they were in the opposite direction from the flow of people coming inside the grounds and heading to the music, many did not see the trucks.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
At the Alley Stage, DJ Sacha Robotti (D\/USA). It was during his set that day turned into night!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Part of the Dirtybird Records<\/em> stable of DJ’s.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Always in a mood for fun, his set worked the line between House and Techno.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
With the sun finally gone, it was an amazing evening with a nice breeze and little humidity.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"

Too crowded now to get anywhere near the DJ. Lee Foss (USA) was up there though playing House.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Back at the main stage, barely able to see the closing set from The Martinez Brothers (USA). We had a much better view of them when they played EDC-Orlando<\/em> a few years ago.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Packed and no possible way of getting closer this time.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Much closer for the closer of The Alley Stage: DJ Spencer Brown (USA) coming over to greet fans.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
He had opened for Andrew Bayer (USA) at Gilt in 2018<\/a> and we also saw him open for Above & Beyond (GB) at Place Bell in Montreal <\/a>earlier the same year.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Those were both Trance sets but last night he was more on the House side.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
Day 2 of Skyline <\/em>begins this afternoon with an even more impressive lineup that includes Nicole Moudaber (GB), Maceo Plex (USA) and Layla Benitez (USA). The weather is great, come on out! Advance tickets here<\/a>.
