Downtown on a Friday night and looking for House music. Elixir Bar is one place you’ll find it every weekend.DJ Gian Carlos (USA) was in the booth upon arrival playing a mix of Tech House and perhaps even Minimal.DJ Lee Burridge (USA) was originally scheduled for last night but an afternoon email indicated he was unable to make it and would be rescheduled. So while Elixir‘s famous outdoor patio was hardly empty, it was nowhere near as crowded as it would have been.In the sea of Hip Hop clubs that is Wall St. Plaza, Monkey Bar is a lone island of electronic music!Resident DJ Dity (USA) was playing the good stuff upon arrival.Taking turns with DJ Julian M (USA). First time seeing Julian M play since he opened for Green Velvet (USA) this past January in Tampa at the Shipwrecked Music Festival Pre-Party. ARTICLE LINK.While the Monkey Bar dance floor remained empty during my visit, their outdoor balcony bar was jammed!And their inside bar was getting some business as well.Now over to Celine Nightclub.As is the tradition here, first you go upstairs to their rooftop club where we found DJ Jaime Lacomb (USA) playing House.Of course it was packed up here!And close to 12:30AM the population begins to drift downstairs to see the headliner.And at 12:35AM, there he was!DJ Detlef (GR)Not everyone came downstairs though so there was some elbow room for moving.Celine has world-class DJ’s playing every week. MK (USA) plays here next Friday night, DJ Boris Brejcha (D) is here on April 22 and DJ Black Coffee (ZA) on April 29. And that’s just this month!
