Club Reports: Hurly-Burly, Atlantic Dance Hall, Broken Strings Brewery

We began our weekend by going “down the shore” at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort in Bay Lake.
The old-fashioned wooden boardwalk was jammed with guests dining at the numerous restaurants & food booths and playing the carnival games.
But we were here to check on progress at their newest attraction, Hurly-Burly.
Hurly-Burly, which will offer nightly musical entertainment, craft cocktails and light bites, opens on October 1st.
The venue is owned and operated by Disney so it’s possible there won’t be a cover charge. No doubt the decor and theming will be top-notch if the Mouse owns it.
It replaces the last remaining Jellyrolls dueling piano bar that occupied this spot for decades before closing in April, 2025.
The format appears to duplicate the roaring twenties entertainment offered at The Edison in Disney Springs so it will be interesting to see how it does. We’ll check it out and report back as soon as we can.
Immediately next door is Disney‘s only owned and operated dance club, Atlantic Dance Hall. Entry is free but operating days have now been reduced to Friday – Sunday.
Arriving around 9PM, we walked into this.
DJ Ryan Sager (USA) was on duty last night.
The music mostly old and new Top 40.
The club is completely casual.
The art deco gem is cavernous so even when there’s a large crowd, there’s still plenty of space on the floor. And we were there pretty early.
From the upstairs balcony you can view the nightly fireworks show taking place at EPCOT Center.
Most of the music is accompanied by the song’s music video.
Atlantic Dance Hall is located at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. Admission and parking are free.
Located on Church Street just east of OBT, our next stop was Orlando’s home of Breaks, Broken Strings Brewery.
There were two music stages last night, one inside and this one outside. The 10PM sets were in-progress when we first arrived.
Outside, DJ ZZ (USA) was in the booth.
Breaks for the win!
We next headed to the indoors stage and walked into this!
Inside here, the legendary DJ Si-Dog (USA).
It’s been a couple years since we last saw this Connecticut-based DJ.
Lots of Old Skool classic Dance in his set.
So many hits around the turn of the century were Breaks.
Dance floor was getting occupied.
Everybody in a great mood.
DJ had the club bouncing.
The 11PM set had begun outside.
DJ Flow Burn (USA)
Second time seeing this Tampa-based DJ.
There was a crowd gathered around but Charlene was the only one actually dancing.
Good stuff!
Meanwhile inside on the main stage, the evening’s only back-to-back set.
DJ Shade (USA) and DJ Soltek (USA)
Dance floor was getting more crowded.
But there were still some spots left.
Broken Strings is an actual brewery so come out and have some fresh suds.
The lasers began firing.
We ran into so many peeps from the music scene. Some were new but most we knew.

DJ J5 (USA)
He would continue with the Breaks theming of the evening.
The headliners came on at 12:30AM on the inside stage.
Spacemen Live (USA)
Dance floor was packed for their set!
They too kept with the Breaks theme of the evening.
When we saw them play earlier this year they played a mostly Electro set.
Wall-to-wall!
They’ve constructed a new high-up tech booth since our last visit to Broken Strings.
Inside the booth, providing both the light and sound, DJ J-ROK (USA) and DJ Swagkerr (USA).
We had last seen Spacemen Live back in March when the aliens played at Kemistry in Fort Lauderdale during Miami Music Week.
And according to the Blog archives, we haven’t seen them play Orlando since this appearance at Firestone Live back in 2014.
The 1AM set had begun outside but right in the middle of the headliner’s set inside.
DJ Flash (USA)
Always a lively set when DJ Flash plays.
He is based in Clermont.

The lasers were swarming as we headed into the final set of the evening.
DJ Mizzo (USA)
He’s one of the most-popular DJ’s on the Bass & Breaks scene.
We first met Mizzo a few years back when he played at Neon Beach in DTO. At the time he was based in Charlotte but we believe he’s subsequently relocated to south Florida.
Dance floor stayed jammed.
You know it was a good show when even Dorsey was dancing. A good time was had by all.
