Club Reports: Aero Bar, The Patio, Taco Kat, Iron Cow

This coming week we will have an article about the decrepit state of downtown Orlando nightlife but there are still a few viable options down there and last night we checked-out several of them. We began at downtown favorite Aero Bar.
Where we learned that Saturday night resident DJ Dominick Morrison (USA) is now also the Friday night resident DJ.
The music a mix of EDM and House.
Aero Bar has this large bar plus two smaller ones so you rarely have to wait for a drink.
The lasers began firing.
Since this an outdoor rooftop venue, you’re literally “dancing with the stars”.
Just a handful here at this early hour since it was our first stop but by midnight this dance floor will be packed. The peeps want EDM.
DJ played an amazing remix of Faithless (GB) hit “Insomnia” with vocals from Bebe Rexha (AL/GB) called “New Religion“. It’s barely been out a week but The Dom had it here at Aero. The price is right here too; admission is free.
We next followed the path downstairs to The Patio.
Friday/Saturday night resident DJ Parry (USA) was in the perch here.
The music more on the Top 40 and Hip Hop side down here.
Just getting cranked-up for the evening but it will get packed down here too in another half hour.
Bubble music.
The Patio is just one venue within the complex called “The Block“. One security check gets you access to The Patio, Aero Bar, The Corner and 64 North and admission to all are free.
You never know who you’re going to run into on the dance floor at The Patio.
See those dark windows on the right? That’s the nightclub called Taco Kat. See those brightly lit windows on the left? That’s the Sonora Tacos fast food restaurant. At least that’s what we think. Now under new ownership, we were way overdue for a visit.
When you first want to enter the club, you approach this soft drink vending machine where the security guard opens it for you, creating a secret opening in the wall.
And you step inside to find Taco Kat.
Here we found DJ Duke (USA) in the booth.
We were trying to decide what genre of music Duke was playing and were informed it was Melodic Techno.
A mix of lasers and those cobalt blue neon tubes give Taco Kat an awesome vibe. As you can see, full liquor bar too.
Keeping with a kat theme, the aft-located WC area is called the “Litter Box”.
The lasers were flying. With the new ownership, we’re excited to see many more events taking place here.
Leaving downtown, we next headed over to the Milk District and Iron Cow.
Where we tried to chat our way past Door Hostess Stephanie but she was having none of it.
Once inside, we walked into this!
This DJ duo was playing when we first came in.
Made up of DJ Chad Andrew (D/USA) and…..
DJ Atnarko (CDN/USA)
The cow was absolutely PACKED!
That look you get from great House music.
We saw lots of DJ’s. DJ Lola B (USA) flanked by friends had opened last night’s show.
Lola B spotted here with DJ Mer-Made (USA).
Spotted by the dance floor: Beaumont Stanford of Drop Shop fame along with DJ The Reverend (USA).
Spotted on the patio: Tonda of La Femme du Fromage fame with DJ The Reverend.
Spotted on stage: DJ Chad Andrew, Corinne and DJ Carlos Mendoza (EC/USA).
Spotted by the bar: DJ Romano Arcaini (D/USA) with friend. Romano plays Sunday evening at Alfie’s HiFi in the Mills/50 district.
Spotted by the stage: DJ Spock Ninja (USA) and DJ Jane.Doe (USA).
And then at 12:30AM, there he was, the headliner…..
DJ Three (USA)
Playing a mostly House set off vinyl.
With this evening’s selections waiting nearby.
And it got even more packed!
It was hard to move about the place.
DJ Three was the opening DJ here at Iron Cow when the venue first opened back in early 2018 as seen in this photo from our Blog archives.
A fun night last night and a good time was had by all.
