So many NYE options last night but after many deliberations, we settled on the show happening here at the Iron Cow.But first we had to talk our way past the Door Host and Security. We arrived shortly after the 8PM opening time and found DJ Braindusted (USA) already on the controls. He opened the evening with a House/Chill House mix.Of course the opener gets stuck with an empty room but there was a queue outside so things looked promising. While the dance floor was vacant at this early hour, the bar was definitely not. They had their finest-looking staff on duty.A lot of his Downtempo selections included vocals and thus a great way to kick-off the night.Around 9:15PM there was a shift change with DJ Lola B. (USA) taking over. She opened with some additional Downtempo but then cranked it up.House music, of course! The dance floor would slowly get occupied. It was great to see Lola B. again.Always a great fashion sense, her toque matched her western boots. She had the club bouncing. As it really began to get crowded down there.Iron Cow has a shiny disco ball so you know they’re legit. We ran into so many peeps from the music scene. Some were new but most we knew.DJ Dave Cannalte (USA) from Mannequins Dance Palace and AAHZ with Peggy.Taking over next, DJ Atnarko (USA).He would deliver a mostly House set too.Dance floor got cranked-up.Everybody in a great mood. That look you get from great House music.Atnarko always does a wonderful job and it got packed to the rafters. And then, there he was! The headliner, the legend…..DJ Icey (USA)Early in his set, “Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good)“. We’ll always remember it as the final song ever played at Mannequins as delivered by the a fore mentioned DJ Dave Cannalte.Songs such as his own “The One” and “Everyday” kept everyone psyched-up.They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls. Well damn, they were right! Dancer Kriss Reign (USA).Just don’t get in her way!Hanging with the DJ.And then the countdown to midnight began!4-3-2-1, Happy New Year!Toot Toot! You know it’s a great show when the DJ is so animated with his set.More peeps!Around 1AM, another legend came on. DJ Kimball Collins (USA).He would play a mostly House set. That look you get from the trancy Delerium (CDN) hit, “Silence“. Around 1:30AM and no one was leaving just yet!Since his residency at Barbarella ended, it’s been hard to catch a Kimball live and in-person set. But we’ve been fortunate this year getting to see him at the Labor Day Bash at House of Blues, then the Orlando All-Stars/AAHZ Reunion at The Beacham and now for NYE here at theCow!He was so animated too! Closing his set with a couple Drum & Bass songs. Who knew?DJ Braindusted came back on after Kimball and would close-out the night.Taking us into the wee hours.A super fun New Years Eve and a good time was had by all. HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone and thanks for reading Orlando Entertainment News!
