Twas’ the weekend after Christmas and we needed to get out of the house. The place to be last night was Broken Strings Brewery located on Church Street less than a block east of OBT. It was time for The SwagN’Friends Holiday Jam show! There were two areas of music beginning outside with the Robot Life Transformer stage. The event began at Noon and we arrived around 4PM to find a tag team set in progress between DJ Miles Norris (USA) and DJ Crudawg (USA).With just a few exceptions, the music was Breaks just about all Jam long.We were going to go up in the booth to get some of our famous over-the-shoulder shots but we wisely decided not to, lol.Early crowd on the outdoor dance floor.Great set!The other area of music was inside the Broken Strings Brewery on the Fully Loaded stage where we found DJ Delicious Groove (USA) on the decks. She was as animated as we’ve ever seen this Dallas-based DJ.Just a few on the dance floor at this early hour though.Activity would slowly pick-up.Always great to see Delicious Groove.Tech booth was active.DJ Spark-D (USA) would come on next. He’s typically pretty-animated too.Through the haze, we knew there was a few people down there.Broken Strings is an actual brew pub with a real brew house in the adjacent room.Free brewery tours are available. It had turned cold back outside and had started to snow. But the show must go on!Those of us who grew up in the great white north were familiar with the stuff but true Floridians wanted to play in it.The Good Year Blimp had been circling nearby Camping World Stadium where the Pop-Tarts Bowl was in progress and they came over to investigate the micro snow storm. There were numerous shiny disco balls so you knew the event was legit.Back inside, Blog-favorite DJ Meags (USA) had taken over.It had been a more than a year since we last saw her play. That was at Grumpys Underground in Orlando in Summer, 2024.The club’s only bar is located in the main room. As the name would indicate, it’s a beer/wine venue. We ran into so many peeps from the music scene. Some were new but most we knew.Back outdoors, a music legend had come on.DJ KJ of K5 (USA). He had a number of Dance hits over-the-years but arguably his most-famous was “Passion” as seen here in this MTV Europe video LINK.KJ didn’t go Breaks on us, he delivered a Dance/Bass House set. The snow flurries had gotten heavy during his set.KJ has been living on the Gulf coast but he tells us he’s moving back to Orlando soon. There were so many distractions! They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls.Well damn, they were right.Indoors, DJ SKNZ (USA) was playing at 7PM.First time seeing him, at least that we can recall.Small crowd but the DJ had them bouncing.Out on the patio, day had turned into night for…..DJ Matrix (USA)The snow had finally quit advancing!
He had this crowd bouncing too!
That look you get from great Breaks.Around 7PM (1900 for our international readers), a DJ we had not seen in a decade.DJ Kid Digital (RUS)Indeed, the last time we saw him in Orlando was at this Native Social Bar show in 2015. We recall this was the first time he had played in the United States.Numerous people mentioned to me that he was playing an amazing set last night.Crowd was growing. The lasers had begun flying.Pretty amazing. Those looks you get from great Breaks.Kid Digital tells us he’s recently relocated from Russia to the Orlando area so that means we will hopefully be seeing more of him at events! Welcome to Orlando, the happiest place on Earth. We have a weakness for girls that wear Doc Martens‘ boots.Indoors, somewhere on stage, DJ Amber Jane (USA).Always a great show when Amber Jane is in the lineup.Always animated! We have a weakness for girls that wear Doc Martens‘ boots. That too!Largest crowd of the night. There were indoor lasers too.Everybody was happy.DJ Jennifer Marley (USA) came on next. She would do a mostly House set.A really fun set.The snow flurries began falling again. Was hoping we wouldn’t get “snowed-out”.Difficult to get photos at times, lol.It didn’t deter the dancers though. But it would creep over you if you weren’t careful.Night peeps…..Around 9PM, Aden is DJ True Self (USA) and Spencer is DJ Suspence (USA).Together they are DJ duo Neighborhood Rhythms (USA).Those looks you get from great Breaks.Spotted in VIP.Outdoor dance floor was jammed. But so many distractions!Back inside for DJ Rob-E (USA).He would also do a mostly House set. Across the haze we could tell there was a crowd down there. We appreciated the respite from all the Breakbeats.Outside in the robot…..DJ Analog Hustlers (USA)Outside dance floor remained busy.We had last seen him play in Miami during Miami Music Week a couple years ago. Speaking of which, we had heard a rumor of a huge party taking place down there during the next MMW the last weekend in March. If you’ve not already booked something but are planning on going, it’s not too late to book a hotel and even a Brightline train to/from the parties. Dance floor around 10PM.And the unseasonable snow didn’t slow anyone down.Miami heat in the house. Not the NBA team, the DJ’s! DJ Soltek (USA) up first, taking turns with…..DJ Robotic (USA). They would play until 11:15PM. The party would go on until 2AM but we had another show we wanted to see so we sadly departed at this point. We’ll post pics from the show at Oliv Bar in tomorrow’s article. The SwagN’Friends lineup was pretty amazing and a good time was had by all.
