Club Reports: Alfie’s HiFi, Sessions, The Robinson, Palm Tree Club

After visiting world class cities such as Paris, Berlin & Amsterdam last weekend, it was great to be back in the Happiest Place On Earth, beautiful Orlando! We began our Friday night club hopping at what remains the hottest club in town, Alfie’s HiFi which is located in the Mills/50 District.
The front room is occupied by this large bar along with numerous tables for chit-chat.
After snagging our drink, we headed to the back room and walked into THIS.
In the booth, resident DJ Juan Sanchez (USA) playing a lot of great Dance hits you would have heard on XM Satellite Radio before they merged with Sirius.
And even though it was early, the dance floor was already packed!
Alfie’s attracts a crowd ranging from 20-something to 50-something.
At 10PM, DJ swap with Grammy-winning DJ Tracy Young (USA) taking over.
She won a Grammy Award in 2020 in the “Best Remixed Recording” category. She won that year for her remix of Madonna (USA) hit “I Rise“.
Her set last night was full of fun “back-in-the-day” music. Spiller (I) hit “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)” drew a huge roar from the crowd.
At Alfie’s, everything is played off vinyl.
And although the club keeps a well-stocked library of albums, the DJ’s typically bring their own crates too.
Spotted on the dance floor: DJ Vin Soul (USA).
Always a fun night at Alfie’s HiFi. Try to come early because the queue outside can get long and once capacity is reached, you can’t go in until someone comes out.
We next headed to downtown and club Sessions.
Stepping inside, we walked into THIS.
DJ Wuhhappen (USA) in the booth playing mostly House.
The dance floor was packed; the bar was packed. A lot of the girls were dressed Goth or like they were at a music festival.
It was a 20-something crowd and we kind of expected some Dubstep or Hardcore but didn’t hear any during our visit.
First time seeing DJ Wuhhappen but were aware of him as he’s part of the local Hard Techno scene too.
Directly across East Pine Street from Sessions is The Robinson where the action takes place upstairs.
After climbing the stairs you enter the main room occupied by this large bar. We walked into THIS.
But the action takes place in this side room called the “Disco Room”.
Here we found DJ Krybtonite (USA) playing mostly EDM.
Small contingent on the dance floor during our visit.
On this evening of office holiday parties, downtown was on the quiet side.
Crowds at The Robinson typically range from 20-something to 30-something.
We made our final stop out in Orlando’s International Drive tourist sector, home to DJ Kygo (N) owned Palm Tree Club. The restaurant is downstairs and the nightclub upstairs in the Live! at the Pointe clubbing complex.
DJ duo Sparrow & Barbossa (E) was advertised and we walked into THIS.
Don’t you hate it when a DJ duo is advertised but only one shows up? (We’re thinking of you, Chase & Status (GB).) Well that happened last night too with only DJ Sparrow (CH) appearing.
While we’ve seen larger crowds here, it was still pretty damn crowded.

Because PTC is only partially covered, it is subject to the weather outside and when it rains, it can cancel events such as one weekend ago. Fortunately, rain at night in Orlando is a pretty rare thing.

Sparrow had the crowd bouncing.
House music, of course!
Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
