Club Reports: Swirlery Wine Bar, Arena Art Bar, Aero Bar, The Patio

We began our Friday night in the south of downtown (SODO) area of the city at Swirlery.
Here we found DJ Amber Jane (USA) in the perch playing EDM and light Breaks.
Swirlery is a small room with numerous tables to relax at along with this pretty busy bar.
Of course, this is primarily a wine bar so there are plenty of selections to choose from.
Spotted with the DJ: Brandy
Also spotted with the DJ: Heather & Kelly
Always great to see DJ Amber Jane!
We next headed into downtown Orlando where the Mayor had declared a “State of Emergency” following Thursday night’s shootings. His temporary solution was to cut-off liquor sales at midnight and create a downtown curfew at 1AM, forcing all businesses to basically close by 12:30AM-ish to get everyone out of there. Numerous bars such as most of Wall Street Plaza, Elixir, Bellhop, Aura/LaRosa, etc. didn’t even bother to open last night meaning many employees did not earn any wages which they need to live on. But Arena Art Bar was open so we dropped-by.
Here we found DJ Ben Bravo (USA) in the perch playing House.
The bar stayed busy with Karly creating the concoctions.
A decent crowd but nothing like a typical Friday night downtown.
Some of the creative Halloween decorations were still on display.
This is an art bar so many Halloween-themed art pieces were on display too…..and for sale. Very cool.
Great to meet DJ Ben Bravo for the first time!
We had some left over Halloween candy bars to take this title photo for our next stop: Aero Bar.
Here we found the legendary DJ Cliff T (USA) in the perch playing EDM & House.
Dance floor had a small crowd but again nothing like a typical Friday night.
Bar stayed busy as the midnight liquor cut-off loomed.
The lasers were flying. Aero would close at 12:20AM so everyone could get off the streets by the curfew.
Always great to see DJ Cliff T.
The curfew did create one opportunity. We were finally going to be able to prove that there isn’t “always a party” at The Patio. Because “always” means “always”, right?
Here we found DJ Parry (USA) in the perch playing a lot of 2008-2011 Top 40 hits.
But there was actually a crowd on the dance floor!
Not as packed as we typically see but hardly empty either!
Spotted on the dance floor: Dawn from Pleasure Island.
Bubble music!
Drats, we were foiled again! There really is always a party at The Patio.
A good time was had by all. Seriously.
