Club Reports: Lot 54 @ The Vanguard, Arena Art Bar, Hammered Lamb By King Bob in Club Reports September 8, 2024 We began our Saturday night in the back lot behind The Vanguard which they occasional use for mini-music festivals. Presented by Insomniac, it had music festival vibes to it beginning with security queues. The event began at 5PM and we arrived fashionably late around 7PM to find this. DJ Airwolf Paradise (AUS) was well into his set at this juncture. He’s kind of short so he was difficult to see up there. It was a fun, EDM set. It was already getting packed and difficult to move about the place. It’s a good reminder that Insomniac‘s 3-day Electric Daisy Carnival-Orlando is just two months away! Tickets and lineup details can be found here. Day-by-day lineups and single day ticket sales should happen within another couple weeks. There were bars in the front and back of the grounds. One food truck. And one booth with free NÜTRL samples, yes! For the few, the proud….. Peeps from the scene including this Barbie-core entourage with DJ FACTORe (USA). Shift change. Advertised as DJ duo Walker & Royce (USA), we only got one of them. Same thing happened the last time we saw him at the Dirtybird Records party at Club Space in Miami in 2019. He’s spotted here with DJ Justin Martin (USA). Front row spots were long-taken. But still some room on the périphérique. Day turned into night. House set with some definite Dirtybird House vibes to a lot of his selections. The headliner was next, Dirtybird recording artist, DJ Dom Dolla (AUS). We were so far back at this point that we could hardly see him let alone get any pics of him. He opened with current hit “girl$“. Packed to the rafters at this juncture! Fun Dirtybird set and a good time was had by all. We next headed over to The Arena Art Bar for a quick drink and visit. No one on the dance floor at this early hour. In the booth, we found DJ JOROK (USA) playing House. First time seeing him play! While the dance floor was empty, the bar was busy. DJ Kris Kokopelli (USA) would take over shortly after our arrival. He would continue with the House. Besides drinking and free popcorn, there’s a number of diversions at Arena Art Bar. And a vending machine to get your own “bag of dicks”. The famed DJ Gerry LaBarge (USA) would take controls next. He would switch the music over to Breaks. We first met Gerry LaBarge when he played at Suite B Lounge back in 2013 as seen in this Blog archives photo. Spotted by the pillar: Kris Kokopelli with DJ Def Jeff (USA) who would be playing at midnight. There’s always great music and fun at Arena Art Bar. It’s on Magnolia Avenue adjacent Celine. Located on Orange Avenue in the Ivanhoe Village area of Orlando, our next and final stop was The Hammered Lamb. We’re told it had been busier earlier but just a handful when we arrived. We didn’t want to miss her! DJ Freeda Sol (USA) in the booth when we first got there. Her set on the House side but we heard some Disco in there too! DJ John Kiser (USA) would take over next. We didn’t think we had seen John Kiser play previously but we found this Blog archive photo of him playing at Suite B in 2013. Great music; sorry to have missed the crowd. Spotted on the sidewalk trying to escape! Spotted in the booth: More DJ’s than you can shake a stick at: DJ Freeda Sol, DJ Scot Marc (USA) and DJ John Kiser. Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all. Social:TwitterFacebookEmailLinkedInRedditTumblrPinterestWhatsAppPocketTelegramLike this:Like Loading...
