Club Reports: The Edison, STK, Mango’s, Icebar

We began our Friday night on beautiful Pleasure Island in Disney Springs. Specifically, we began at The Edison Orlando which is located where The Adventurers Club once stood.
Like you would expect at Walt Disney World, The Edison is highly themed throughout with a mix of steampunk and 1920’s/30’s aura.
The Sound Society Radio show was still in progress when we first arrived.
But it was just concluding.
Between radio sets and taking us to 11PM, DJ Mynd (USA) was in the booth.
He was playing a light House mix during our visit.
Due to heavy rains earlier, not all that many in here but both downstairs bars were still jammed.
A far cry from pre-covid when they used to clear the tables and chairs off the floor and turn this into a dance club. Not sure why Edison management won’t bring this back but it wouldn’t surprise me if the Mouse is somehow involved in the decision-making.
Directly across West End Plaza from The Edison is STK.
There were still some diners dining at this late hour.
With DJ Marc Sparcs (USA) providing the background music.
Which was also a light House mix with some Top 40 hits. When STK first opened the music was played LOUD but customer complaints led them to turn the volume way down the past few years.
We first met Marc Sparcs back in 2011 when he played in downtown Orlando at short-lived club Touch Ultralounge. (Blog archive photo)
While primarily a restaurant, STK does have a bar scene.
Outside on the STK patio, we spotted singer Robert Keele (USA) doing soft Rock ballads. This is new.
Next off to International Drive. We did not stop at Mango’s but a reminder that their new second-floor Mango’s Ultralounge opens tonight with headliner DJ Borgeous (USA).
Next stop along International Drive, Icebar Orlando.
Where we walked into this!
DJ Ray Love (USA) was on the decks and on the mic.
The music a mix of mostly Top 40 hits and Hip Hop hits.
There’s always a crowd at Icebar.
Icebar has an actual frozen ice bar room. Admission includes use of a fur coat and an alcoholic drink served in a “glass” made of ice. Admission is cheaper if you purchase them in advance on their website here.
Yes, that’s all made of ice! While there is a charge to visit this frozen room, there is no cover charge to visit the dance club.
DJ had the dance floor bouncing!
Free parking behind the club. A good time was had by all.
