Club 33, Abba Tribute @ The Purple, Sunshine Party @ The Aft Lounge (MSC Splendida)

Located on Deck 16, the sign on the outside says “Sea Pavilion Hot Pot” but trust me on this, Club 33 Disco is located inside.
We arrived and found resident DJ Joel (EAK) in the booth.
Even though it was relatively early, there was already a crowd on the dance floor.
Can’t get enough of this place; this was our third visit to Club 33 during this cruise.
The music was all EDM and House during prior visits; last night it was more European House meaning songs with vocals in other than English, at least during my stay. MSC knows how to do it!
First visit this cruise to The Purple Bar, located on Deck 7 amidship.
Very 70’s vibe in here with funky furniture, funky light panels on the walls and matching carpet too.
We were here for the “Abba Tribute” (S) show, with music delivered by duo Big Little (DOM & SRB).
We heard great Abba hits like “Super Trooper”, “Money Money Money” and “Waterloo”.
The ship’s Entertainment Team joined in the fun.
While songs like “Dancing Queen” and “Gimme Gimme Gimme” kept the dance floor packed!
Big is from Serbia while Little is from Dominican Republic.
Seems like every cruise nowadays has an Abba night because you can never have too much Abba!
Next stop was cleverly-named The Aft Lounge, located on Deck 7, aft.
It was home to the “Sunshine Party”. Originally scheduled to take place on the pool deck, rare evening thunderstorms in Aqaba, Jordan forced them to move the event indoors.
Resident DJ Mizo (I/ET) delivered the music which was advertised as a 60’s/70’s/80’s/90’s Night.
The show opened with a quick dance routine from the ship’s theater performers.
And then the actual Village People (USA) did the opening song!
Can you guess the name of this Village People song, lol?
The Aft Lounge does not have the requisite “shiny disco ball” but this light rack above the dance floor sure makes up for it!
While I recall a 90’s song or two, a 60’s song and perhaps a couple 80’s songs, we pretty much remained in the 70’s last night which made me happy. Songs included “Boogie Wonderland”, “Freak Out”, “Stayin’ Alive” & “Celebration”.
Let me tell you…..the music on this cruise by the two resident DJ’s has been absolutely amazing. From a music standpoint, best cruise ever!!
Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
